Pics 3 and 4 look like there were crannocks on the reservoir.

Has anyone got a clue as to what this used to be, there appears to be a concrete beam holding the structure to the shore, it is on the "fishing sides" you can only fish on three banks.

Not many pictures of people on here -difficult to take self-potraits although there was a glimpse of Sue in a reflection in her last lot with new camera.
Indulge me a little wishful thinking (this is where I want to be right now!) - a number of images of unphotogenic me -taken mostly by my friend Andrea and husband Dave while on our escapades in the Lakes.

It's 29°C inside -sweltering and I've promised to roast a chicken later for my son when he brings his girlfriend round for dinner -I must be mad!:D

Me dressed for wet weather, drinking Tea at Howtown (note silver service even for walkers!), I actually did come down that scramble (Dave in front to cut out the view as I have terrible vertigo!), stuffing my face in the lakes with a cream scone and eating ice-cream in Edinburgh, with god-daughter Ana by Long Meg, Girls on top of Gowbarrow Fell, on Howtown jetty and by the Ribble with my aunt this April (note gorgeous day in Lancs!) Was too ashamed to put me eating fish'n'chips in Fleetwood (I do nothing but eat it would seem) so have substituted it with me and friends Pia and Mariangela in Cremona for a lit. festival in June!

I hate having my picture taken........I'm not quite sure why.
I didn't use to mind. I guess it stemmed from having my photo in a cabinet on the Ward......I fought not to have it taken and I was the very last on my ward to have my mugshot done. It somehow made me feel like a criminal - it was the 'forced' element I guess....since then, if I see a camera lens pointing at me I run away. So you won't see much of me on here.
Your pics are lovely Dianne....and I am sure they hold happy memories for you.

Same here Margaret - i just don't think it looks like me -not as I see myself. Some people are so photogenic....not me!

They do hold nice memories like you say -as a rule though I'm taking the pictures.:D

Me too... it's just not me - as I think I am - or want to be. Got lots of videos of am dram productions with me in - have never watched them for that reason. But the other half always comes out well in pics - my Dad did too - perhaps we girls are just too self conscious?

Love the dress in that last pic Dianne!

I am usually behind the lens too...just where I like to be.
Here are some of my efforts of today.
I think I have overcome my insectophobia(as long as I can use Zoom that is).
1) Just because it went 'Buzzzzz' doesn't mean it's a bee.
2) but this one is........on privet flowers...lovely to look at but I don't like the smell.
3) A sad looking hound.......on the canal bank.
4) Some very large leaves......they were almost as tall as(or short) as me.....haven't a clue what they are.
Maybe Sue knows...I hope so.

Yep Sue knows - or thinks she does - it's horseradish - grown it myself from time to time...

Wild Food Guide: Horseradish, (Armoracia rusticana), Including Recipes

I think pic 1 is a hoverfly. And I hate the smell of privet flowers too - so sickly!

Love that dog - with its tail hanging straight down! very sad - or maybe that's just its face...:(

I thought it might be horseradish(once saw it on a TV program dedicated to eating from the hedgerows)...might take something to dig up the roots next time I go.
I thought the insect in number 1 was a hoverfly...but only from Dave's pictures. I have never before, in my life, got so close to flying buzzing things.

You'll need a big fork I think- the roots are quite tenacious.

I garden organically and hoverflies are the gardener's friend - clearing up aphids and stuff like that.
