Re: Mill Street, Accrington
HaHa very funny!! No I am not related to the Shanks's from Dowry Street. My late hubbys family originate from Bury. I was Renton before I was married. I lived at 24 Mill Street. My lads get called Shanksy.

Re: Mill Street, Accrington
It is interesting that there were, and are, some street names which have been duplicated in Accrington. There were two Ashworth Streets, one of them in Bash. I wonder if Bash was not in Old Accrington, and when it became part of Accrington?.

Re: Mill Street, Accrington
On the 1851 and 1861 censuses some addresses in Baxenden/Lower Baxenden were in the Township of New Accrington.
