Re: the bird
it will take time for it to trust you if it ever does, you stand a better chance if it is a young one or one that has been hand reared, we have a parrot that was hand reared and it was Ok from day one, they tend to adopt 1 person though, is the bird same with everyone in the house or just you?
Theres only me in our house that can handle it and it isn't me that feeds it! probably because i'm not frightened of its big beak but everyone else is! but it has had me on more than one occasion and when it bites you know about it, its not like a peck off a budgie or cockatiel, these things can crack nuts with their beaks so imaging what it an do to flesh |
Re: the bird
We had an African Grey parrot called mogi when we were growing up. He was an absolute pain, he only had one owner .... my Dad! Damn bird would attack anyone who went near his cage and it was one of my Dads 'after he came home from the pub drunk, party trick' to let the parrot out to chase everyone including our Jack Russel dog who was also petrified of it! It used to make the most annoying noise when we came home from school and wanted to watch CITV, it had a built in clock and knew when it was 3.30pm and would start with it's awful bombs dropping noise and swearing, shouting of my Mum or the dog ......... anything to stop us watching TV gggggg  !!!
