I did.

It would appear the Stag is only temporary closed, on the orders of the local Health & Safety officers. The place was not fitted with emergency lighting/emergency exit signs.

Was it the Lone Star or the Load Star near Ribchester. What a place for the talent back in the 70's. You had to know someone who had a car to get there!!! Met my 1st wife there and I still have nothing but good memories about the place!!!! :alright:

Yep Loadstar, Margo Grimshaws place some good gigs there in the past including Bob Geldof n Boomtown Rats..and the Sex Pistols!

Margo..not a woman to be messed with...once frogmarched me out, saying someone said i walloped one of her barstaff..luckily the barman spotted me and told Margo she was cobbin out the wrong fella!!:rolleyes:

Not first pint, but first pint of bitter. When I worked on the factory bottom, one lunchtime on a Saturday, when we were doing a bit of overtime, one of the tacklers from WF Chambers bought me my first pint of bitter in the Woodnook Inn? - at the corner of Marsden Street and Carter Street - which was a Thwaites pub if I remember rightly. I never really went back to drinking tea after that.

Bitter was my first drink too, used to sup it all the time back then, until i woke up one morning with really bad gut pains...was advised by some olders drinkers to switch to mixed or mild, which i did, and was fine thereafter!

I tend to either drink lager these days, or the odd pint of real ale!...But sup more wine at home!

Mine was a pint of mixed in the Foxhill in Blackpool, was only 15 at the time, but even then I was 6' 2" tall:D

Once saw a Group called The Rockin Vicars playing there....i think they might even have been a resident band there...pretty good too!
