anyone with a time on their hands to check if i have set this new laptop right. get messages up saying broadband speed reduced to 128kdue connecting over old network which is to close down. on aol by the way. cheers marg.

A few questions to start with.

What type of modem do you have? USB or ethernet?

What speed Broadband do you think you have?

Have you upgraded from a slower service?

Have you any other PCs using the Internet Connection?

hi entwisi,i downloaded aol8.0. on laptop with modam i use with desktop, than i downloaded aol 9.0. the latest version i use with the desktop. thats when i got the message coming on when i brought up aol9.o on the laptop, but yesterday went and bought a netgear DG834G wireless router, read instructions, and when i have a quiet moment maybe tomorrow i will attempt to fix it up.thanks for your reply. marg.
