Been using it for ages both at work and at home. It is now a very polished piece of software.

I've got both. I flit between the two. Openoffice is the default at the mo but the kids need microsoft because they use it at school.

Re: Free Office

Schools/College are a pain. We have to develop our ICT coursework in Microsoft Access (Worst damn database program ever!!!) so I need to install Office because OpenOffice isnt perfect at converting Access files :(

It would be so much cheaper if the schools/colleges used OpenOffice or some other form of office that supports open stanards :(

Maybe it would but then when the students go for a job they would find the majority of places used MS Office. Most employers ask for MS Office experiance so schools and colleges teach what is asked for.

Should break the circle somewhere, and companies should start using free software, would also save them a fortune :p

When companies start using it then I am sure school's and colleges will follow suit.

Which suggests that its all dodgy software(apart from the obvious free stuff like Adobe). Posting on a public forum that you have a PC full of dodgy softawre is not a very clever thing to do IMHO
