Anyone know of any free software to convert mp3's to aac ?

Re: Converting mp3 to aac
You don't want to do it anyway as both are lossy formays and teh result will sound horrible. AAC is Apples format used on iPods. You can normally play MP3s on iPOds as well, why do you want to recode it?

Re: Converting mp3 to aac
which type of ipod is it? Have you uploaded it using iTunes or some other program? Does it play OK on your PC? Have you any other mp3s on the ipod, do they play OK?

Re: Converting mp3 to aac
I dual boot my iPod with Linux, That allows me to do all sorts of 'extra things' with it. e.g. support for OGG files, audio recording via left ear bud, lots more games, even video playback(albeit in b&w on my 20 gig ipod)
