Oh dear, I guess that really proves it
Read an article in teh Observer car pages about private plates, the closing comment was about a bloke who had a plate '6765656B' and how someone had put their thumb up to it in recogniustion. teh reason given was that" its 'geek' in hex", WELL....... I immediately corrected it to" 'geek' in unicode" in my head!!!!!
Oh dear, theres no hope I guess |

I have a full life thanks, looking after Siobhan, keeping Julie in the style she has become acustommed, being an all round good guy and of course devising new methods to cheat at quiz's :D in laymans terms, its technically not right to say its in "hex[1]" as it defines a particular computer standard for the representation of all characters in computer terms(unicode). [1] hexadecimal, base 16 (0123456789ABCDEF) which is used usually to give a more readable form to the binary that all computers use, its dead easy to convert binary to hex as each hex character represenst 4 binary 'bits', [2] [2] Yes, I knmow, when in a hole stop digging!!! :D |

Re: Oh dear, I guess that really proves it
Don't worry about it Entwisi, I've got one at home just like you!
Rerunning a full episode of Friends in my head usually keeps me going long enough for him to explain it and get it out of his system! |

Only messing with you entwisi. I'm sure someone somewhere understands it :D |
Re: Oh dear, I guess that really proves it
I learnt binary before i learnt hex and binary is easier to read.. especially as i learnt 8bit first ..
I wouldnt like to actually try to do anything other than ON/OFF in binary though ... thats a joke i just made up.. only one other person will get it :) |
Re: Oh dear, I guess that really proves it
Remember Ian there are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I always worked in hex when I messed in m/c code, although thinking exactly how long ago that was rather scares me! |
Re: Oh dear, I guess that really proves it
I don't work in hex or binary.. Well obviously need hex here and there... but binary was so long ago I am racking my brains trying to remember why.... Like anything else I had to learn it all off the internet so it's within the last 12 yrs.. cant recall why i needed binary though...
