Anyone using this ISP to connect to the internet having problems this week?

Intermittent problems for past 2 weeks. Goes off for short periods of time, a couple of times last week it was overnight for 2 weeks running.

Early Sat am I couldnt get a connection. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Speedtouch. I eventually phoned tech support to be told that BT were upgrading the line and it would mean I would get 6 megs instead of 1. I havent seen that yet.

And you probably wont margret, we up graded with orange and it just didnt happen:mad: So thats why we switched to BT Home Hub thing we have 7.8meg now and you can tell the difference.Orange to put it bluntly are 'CRAP'And when we told them we were changing it took them 3 months to remove the marker. It took BT to threaten to take them to an ombudsmen type thing, and when they threatened that it was removed same day.Anyone on it get off while you can:mad:

Re: Orange (Freeserve) Broadband

I have been searching for a better provider today and found Plusnet @£12.99.(am paying £17.99 up to now)
When I phoned Orange to get my MAC code they have sweet talked me into staying with them by offering me a new package which is only available to existing customers-
wireless, 7+meg, at £12.99 a month with one month free.
I asked when the BT work on my line would be completed and was told 'just another 48 hours'. So on Friday I will have my wireless equipment and a faster connection --will pigs fly?---we will see :)

I am assuming you are using a laptop not a desktop PC then.

Not being very 'techie' I hope this is humour.
I have both a desktop and a laptop and hope to use them both - laptop in bedroom on days when I feel the need to surf from my adjustable bed :D

Re: Orange (Freeserve) Broadband

I have decided to cancel this wireless install. After reading about the hacking risks the ability to surf in my adjustable bed is not worth the loss of my 'peace of mind'

If I get cut off once today I will be cancelling, sod it the trouble I've had with them over the last two weeks they can sod off I'm cancelling anyway. I had no trouble when it was Freeserve but since it bacame Orange it's a joke. Anyone looking for a new ISP stay clear of these cowboys.
