Re: Help

click start, go to all programs, then accessories, then system tools and finally system restore, you should then be able to revert back to an earlier day when it had all your settings.

Re: Help

I don't think system restore will find a lost profile Less, its more concerned with programs/dlls/ etc.

Grego, was there any problems when you shut it down before today? i.e. did it hang or anything?

I tried the restore and it didn't work, yes I'm having problems with my lead if the pc is knocked it loses power so keeps being knocked off without being shut down, its telling me when I switch on that Windows cant find local profile?

Re: Help

yep, thats teh problem, you end up with lost chains on teh disk. look under c:\Users or is it C:\Windows\profiles (Can never remember which XP defaulted to) and you will probably find lots of profiles suffixed with .000 .001 etc

check the last updated date. log in as administrator (i.e. NOT your normal login) and rename teh one you reckon is teh latest to what it should be(make sure you keep the original one just in case, copy it to <user>.original
