Sat nav

Last month my navman f20 lost its voice well you can only just hear him, i decided to send an email to navman to find out what could be wrong as its only 8 months old, well i have just recieved an email from them telling me they are sending out a pre-paid padded envolope to return just the device and nothing else and they will return it to me, what my question is.... am i going to get a reconditioned one back or are they going to fix my satnav and return it, whats the chances that im going to get mine back as i dont want a secondhand recon satnav i want mine fixed as ive only used it twice and it still has the screen film on it:rolleyes:, has anyone else had to return anything and got the same one back or a recon instead ?

I sent my mobile phone back once because the microphone went in it and I got my phone back. Nothing had been wiped off it or anything. That was a nokia phone from the o2 shop.

Re: Sat nav

I sent a sat nav back to navman, it had broken, the screen was giving an error message and would not load anything at all, they told us to send it back (it was 10 months old), we did, and they sent a voucher towards a new one (the old one wasn't being made any more) for the value of the original, in the meantime the vastly upgraded model was only the same price as the original, so bought the upgraded one (navman 40i), have another one as well, both are used daily, all day and no trouble, navman seem to be all that you would want in customer service.

Thats good that you got a voucher, you would think they would just send you a new one themselves though, but you got a better one in it place which is good. the only problem i have had is the phone number on their website doesnt exist and it has taken them a while to get back to us via email, but hopefully we will get it sorted, i wouldnt mind an upgrade though:D

I once took a phone back to o2 shop in Accy cause it wouldn't charge properly I got a brand new phone, phone charger and they put me £10 credit on for the inconvenience, they also put all my info off my old phone then showed me whilst they deleted everything afterwards.

My daughter sent a faulty sat nav back to the manufacturer and it was the same one that came back.

So they do repair them , i was hoping that they did and send you your own one back, its just you hear stories of people getting a reconditioned item in its place and who knows what was wrong with that one in the first place or if it had been dropped a few times, my satnav is marked with a uv pen with my details on it, only problem is i dont have a uv light

I have an older model of sat-nav, the wife and a road atlas. This model also occasionally loses its voice and stops talking, usually after being criticised for issuing wrong directions. Anyone any ideas where I could get this one repaired?:)

You could always trade her in for two twenty year old nubile blonds.
You might not live long, but you would die happy. :)

My Sony digital camera had to go back for repair last year and they did just that. I would have preferred a replacement as it's still not working properly and I haven't had a decent photograph with it since. Out of guarantee now so I'm doomed!

I once paid £120 for a nebuliser from a firm I hadn't dealt with before, looked great on the leaflet. Went I started using it, it went kaput after only 4 months, I rang the firm and they told me to send it back and they would look at it. A couple of weeks later they sent me a brand new one still in its box. The only thing was this went wrong within three months, needless to say haven't used that firm again

Just been watching an HGV trying to get through Church via Lion St and France St until he noticed York St at the top!! Had to reverse back halfway along Lion St and negotiate the corner of Albert St in order to get to Church St.
Think he'd probably come along Barnes St and up Edmundson St.
What's the betting he was following a Sat Nav? :D
