Spam Mail

I suppose I'm not on my own, but I receive around 30 spam emails per day, they're a flaming nuisance, wouldn't it be great if, when deleted, they bounced right back at the sender, clogging up their systemhttp://www.4smileys.com/smileys/angr...ry_smileys.gif

Re: Spam Mail

I normally get very little spam, but recently YahooMail 'improved' their services..........which meant all that my learned preferences were lost, and I am having to re-educate my system to what I consider to be SPAM........in the first few days the amount of spam I received could be 20 messages in an hour(it drove me daft -seeing stuff for payday loans and gambling sites in my mailbox - not ot mention viagra)........but I am something like 3 or 4 weeks since this event and I have noticed that the spam is starting to drop off again...or go directly to my 'spam' folder.........I hope YahooMail leave it for a long while before they try to improve the site again.

Re: Spam Mail

I use windows live mail for my email, and it has a block option for junk mail, I can either block an individual email address or a domain name. This appears to work in most cases, although if they send with a slightly different name etc I have to block them again. I still get spam, but not on the scale that some members seem to be getting them.

Re: Spam Mail

No it wouldn't because that would tell them they had found a live email account.

I get very few spam emails, most of them are because I have live email addresses on places like the Charity Commission website but I can't do anything about that.

What do you do to give your email address away?
Do you use your ISP's email account? I don't, I use a Windows live account and several google ones and I find them very good at filtering out spam

Do you ever use the unsubscribe links on the spam email? I did that a while ago when I was getting a few and then stopped getting them from the ones I unsubscribed from. It should work for companies you have heard of and those based in the UK like the loan companies but probably wont for your viagra problem

Yes...I do use the unsubscribe link.....but it doesn't seem to make much difference.
I also ask people that I forward e-mails to, to remove my name and e-mail address if they are going to forward my post on to someone else(though I don't forward many e-mails these days).......this is another way to reduce spam...but many people don't do it or know how to do it.

My spam has gone down, yesterday I only had 21 spam e-mails and they were all where they should be...in the junk mail file.
I know that an odd one will still sometimes land, but I can cope with that.

I am with Virgin and all spam is blocked out, and put in a different file which is deleted after 30 days. I have just looked at the file and there was 166 from 1st March until today. I have deleted them.

Mine was like that, until they upgraded the progam.
It was rare that spam got to my inbox.....but I'm getting there...again.

Be careful with such an aggressive spam system. I used to use uk2.net to host my domain name and they started filtering out facebook emails that we wanted. Rhonda almost lost her facebook account because something weird happened during a password change and uk2 were blocking all the password reset emails from facebook. I proved it by trying a reset on my own, live didn't block the email but uk2 did. Shortly after they failed to resolve the issue after many attempts by them and many service emails I dumped them and we all moved our emails to windows live ones

Am I lonely or what?
I love the penis extension ads and folk letting me know where I can get the cheapest Viagra, it means someone, somewhere, really does care about me and wants me to have a happy life.

I keep getting asked if I want a bigger penis too, Less.
I tell them 'only if I can use it as a door stop'.

If the door was fitted by a professional joiner it won't' need a doorstop he would never leave until you were completely satisfied.
