Prodigal Son
This has got to be the best news so far this season. :D :D :not_ripe: :not_ripe: :Banane13: :Banane25: :Banane25:
Liverpool Football Club are delighted to announce that Robbie Fowler has rejoined the club on a free transfer from Manchester City until the end of the season when the situation will be reviewed. Fowler, 30, completed the formalities of what is a sensational move this afternoon. The Manchester City striker is ineligible to play in Sunday's FA Cup tie against Portsmouth but could make an emotional reappearance in front of the Kop against Birmingham City on Wednesday. Toxteth-born Fowler originally shot to prominence with the Reds in the autumn of 1993 and quickly established himself as one of the most lethal finishers in Europe. |
Re: Prodigal Son
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooo
:(:(:(:(:( As soon as Robbie gets decent he leaves us! (only referring to 'us' because of a City v United in the cup bet going on.....dammit!!) |
Re: Prodigal Son
Speaking at Anfield on Friday night, Benitez told liverpoolfc.tv: "My idea is for Liverpool to take one step forward and I think Robbie can help us make that step.
"We have signed a player with so much passion for this football club and I think he will act as an example to every player here in how much he loves Liverpool. "It is a boost for the team, a boost for the supporters and a boost for Robbie himself. I'm not sure I've ever seen a player quite so happy to be joining a club before. |
Re: Prodigal Son
Robbie Fowler is a red, is a red, is a red.
Robbie Fowler is a red, he hates munich's. Up yours Gary Neville this is a good move for both parties. |

Re: Prodigal Son
The path keeps me strong and true......................but my best mate is a scum fan, and oh how I love to annoy :D
Got a pint riding on City getting further the cup than United......I do hope some more Utd players get kicked :) in the nicest possible way of course... |
Re: Prodigal Son
Presumably, your mate lives in the Accy area? Another one who has suddenly discovered the joys of grassroots football, despite ignoring it on his own doorstep for years. He deserves all the stick he gets!

Re: Prodigal Son
Well he has supported (I use that word in the loosest of terms possible) Utd since primary school...but in the summer he moved with his family to grimsby, thats karma! support the devil and he shall move you to fishy lands...
I do drag him up to the IES whenever he's in town though...he was lucky enough to catch the Boco masterclass against Southport, 4-0! made him think twice about belittling the reds again! This sinner will be converted.....in time. |
Re: Prodigal Son
Good to hear, Mr S...don't just keep the faith, spread it!
|
Re: Prodigal Son
And as I said in the orginal start to this thread isn't great that Robbie Fowler is back at Anfield. :)

Re: Prodigal Son
As long as he's not gone to Exeter, Grays or Halifax...it's fine by me, Bazf!

Re: Prodigal Son
Why should that be of any interest in Accrington ?

Re: Prodigal Son
Whatever next? maybe Utd will re-sign Schmeichel.
Seriously I hope this re-ignites his career, but I can't see it. He was bombed out of Liverpool for having lost his touch, pace and desire as well as all his discipline problems. Since hitting the heights at an early age he never really fulfilled his potential and Leeds were well shot of him. I thought he had maybe found his level at City but even when fit he was hardly the first name on the sheet. It is true that strikers are confidence players and this might just give him the shot in the arm that he needs. Unfortunately if it doesn't work out for him in the next three months then I can only see one way for him and that is down. Maybe Preston could buy him to replace Ormerod when the Stanley sign him in the summer. |
