England v Paraguay

Ok a win is a win and 3 pionts.. good start, but I personly think at best it was an average performance by England and after watching the first 2 games was even poor! could someone enlighten me as to how Owen heargreaves has managed to aquire 31 England caps?.. he looks championship level at best, I have seen him have 1 good game for England but I can't remember which one it was!

3 points is just about it, ok first half - utter crap 2nd half can,t understand why owen was substituted to leave us with one striker? for me joe cole, crouch, beckham, had good games, terry a rare bad un, and the heat is no excuse for poor distribution.:(

I think Sven wants to think himself lucky we got the 3 points and didn't only come away with a draw. It's only my opinion (and yes I know I'm a girl :D) but what the hell was he thinking leaving Crouch up front on his own?

Beckham had a really good game IMO.

Good 1st half but very sloppy 2nd half, to many mistakes and gave the ball away needlessly! I think the heat did get to the players in the 2nd but it's the only match we have to play at that time of day thankfully! Looking forward to the 15th now :engsmil: COME ON ENGLAND!!!

Great first half and poor second one but I don't think he made a mistake taking Owen off. He needs him completely fit for the rest of the matches, there was no need to risk him anymore when we were one up. He took him off and replaced him with someone to strengthen midfield so that Paraguay could be held in the middle. As it happens I think he should have replaced him with a defender and tightened up at the back to stop the risk of a sloppy goal going in. If Paraguay had scored we would have been stuffed, I agree, but I can see the logic in his decision.

Dont mention the 2nd half my telly got a roasting mainly at the ref & at the players bad passing, lack of possession, why take Owen off?? Crouchy aint a lone striker, ahhh rant rant rant, well least unlike many of previous times we managed to keep the score to win. The ref well - i could give him a very nice mexican wave of the 2 finger variety & he cant give me a yellow LOL!!!

Dont i just love footy - oh yeh :-) Come England you can do better next time the nation is praying !!!

Tinkerbelle.. you girl.. go get us bods some more lager while we talk about footy.
(in code so the chicks don't know) Got 3 points.. but walcott don't get a runout
heargreaves looks like the "holding" player we don't need.. Owen looked rubbish , bad first touch and not sharp when he got anywere near the box

More girlie thoughts. I agree that the first half was better than the second and that Beckham played well, Owen shouldn't have been taken off either. Ericson almost lost the plot there. Three points was a good result and I trust he is thanking his lucky stars tonight

But even better for us, was the next match. Trinidad and Tobago, down to ten men and finishing with a nil, nil draw. That was perfect, the best match so far, I nearly fell off my bar stool!!

Well, we'll have to wait until Thursday, but, I reckon England may struggle against those Jack Russells.

Did you watch Rio's world cup windups after footy on itv, that was soo hillarious he got Neville, Crouchy, failed on Terry but got Sean wright Phillips instead which worked out better, Rooney - surprised Rio didnt get battered lol, arty farty James & Beckham - talk about save the best till last hehehehe:D

Hey Becks must of been desperate for his meeting to get out the car & traffic lights & run - thro Moss side  lmfao!!!!!! Now thats brave driving thro there is bad enough LOL:D Surprised they didnt blame Rio just for revenge is sweet, for todays performance:rolleyes:

Tell you what those Argies are still cheating diving sods!!! those are ones to watch out for as well as the brazillians!!

we gotta improve big time! england/paraguay definately the WORST 2 sides thats played today.

Re: England v Paraguay

One thing i've noticed is that the refereeing isn't consistant <surprise surprise>, specially as FIFA have incorportated stricter rulings on divings & fouls, after watching the Argies match yesterday it seems the expected happened the ref's obvious blindness to this teams typical style of cheating & getting away with it yet the other side CIV got penalised for the slightest & some not even touching the Argies but yet the dramical diving was so obvious!!

Owen Hargreaves was born in Canada, under Welsh and English parents. So technically he isn't good enough to play for 3 countries. hehe

Seriously, at least we have a scapegoat to blame if things go wrong.
