World Cup 2018
Ministers back World Cup 2018 bid
This could be good news but, I wonder, will Wembley be ready in time?:p |
Re: World Cup 2018
More to the point will the FES have a roof to host the group matches by then :D
|
Re: World Cup 2018
Who needs Wembley? by 2018 Old Trafford could be a 95,000 seat stadium.. and if Stanley do get a roof, it could be used as a bus stop shelter for fans going to OT! :D

*L*
i think it wud b great but its nothin more htan a photo op for brown really with something like the uk it wud only b a yr two to get facilities up to scratch etc with the good infrastructure we got but all this the govt wud support it crap is just ofr publicity |
Re: World Cup 2018
The infrstucture is already here.. no need to spend billions on facilities for some poncey aussie water polo team or canadian archers!... the passion is here..at no extra cost to the tax payer, and no need use millions in lottery money to finance some prat that may/may not manage to get a medal in the 10,000 metre steeple chase.

All very well if were around to see it.How come its taken so long to have it back in Blighty(if it happens).Since 66,the Germans have had it twice as have the Mexicans, and were supposed to have possibly the best league in Europe, although i can understand some grounds might not be up to scratch.

Re: World Cup 2018

Re: World Cup 2018
So you missed WW2, but still had to deal with rations. My grandad was an El Alamein hero (desert rat). Yet they still played the beautiful game. Royal Norfolk Regt.
Of course you'll get that far, 70 is quite young nowadays! |
Re: World Cup 2018
i think one of the prime reasons it didnt come back to uk since 66 was the fan troubles that hte uk had in the 80's
i think had england not had those probs italy 90 or even mexico 86 cud've been hosted here but now they've got a rotation policy which i reckon is real bad next world cup in africa then south america the europe again... but places like africa are limited - egpyt prob could and s.africa if they build the facilities to have a few million fans - once those fans leave what use are they? the rotation policy is a good idea but i think africa and n. america *which in all honesty is 3 countries*shud rotate |
