Talking of refs

Has anybody seen the new Vid which has been produced by the FA about grass routes referees, It stars Ray Winston as a boorish parent stood on the touch line on a Saturday morning watching his son play. It pointed out that unless parents stopped abusing Refs and other other parents at these matches the game would just died, it ends with Winston shouting REF at the top of his voice and the camera pans away showing that he's the only person stood on the whole field and there's quite a few pitches, its a very good Vid

The thing is that it won't change things will it??
If those who the vid is aimed at can't see the problem beforehand how are they supposed to know it is aimed at them??

my 14 year old nephew is a ref, they only get a tenner a game and from what he's told me he does get a hell of a lot of grief from kids parents, i like the advert, very true to life

The really disturbing thing about that video is that over 10,000 amateur refs have quit in these last few years.

It seems JB that there is no problem recruiting young refs but its keeping them that's the problem, they lose on average 7500 every season
