Leave them to it. I think a quick search will reveal numerous quotes about Burnley never getting to the Premier League, some as rfecent as early May :). Football has a funny way of handing out it's own karma to people who gob off :D

I reckon Granny is talking about the funds Rovers had when they bought the league back in 1996..but them days have gone.

Buy the League Mancie, you don't buy it ask your mate Baggpuss or any Leeds or Newcastle supporters, Money is only one of the equations in winning it and remember Rovers did it with a mostly British Team of which the majority were English with just one foreigner Henning Berg. The main ingredient is buying the right players that play for each other, that's why Fergie is so good, he doesn't make to many bad buys

Dissapointing today, following defeats against those easy teams Chelsea & Liverpool we now go and concede a home goal for the first time since March 11th. On the slide I'm afraid

Watching Rovers today I am having second thoughts.
I thought that was the worst performance I have seen for many a year.
I watch Barcelona and relish the brilliant players they have on show and the finished article shines through to almost perfection.
Rovers performance today was like a bunch of untrained schoolboys.
Everton outplayed Rovers every department. Sadly I feel that a complete makeover is needed to restore the Rovers fortunes. We as supporters expect and deserve better than was on offer today.

They were very poor yesterday, but when your starting every game with one up front what do you expect, We pay £6 million for a striker yet he's never started, if your playing that system and defending like they did, they ain't going anywhere fast

Re: Going down

I just hope Big Sam's ego doesn't get in the way of him admitting he made a mistake in continuing with the One up front and Dunny in the hole system! Rovers have always played better with two up front and two wide men supplying the service. Unfortunately Pedersen too is letting the side down...since he "discovered" his long throw, he doesn't seem to be half as keen in putting in the effort to take on a defender, he's more than happy to have the ball played out for a throw in, which takes all the speed and threat out of an attack! At the moment most of our "half chances" are being created by the long ball or the long throw, both predictable and easy for decent teams to defend against...both have there place as occasional tactics, but not as the main thrust of an attack! Things need to change, we have decent enough players to finish top half, but they need to be used to their maximum potential!

Best Regards - Taggy

One thing I have learned over the years in the Rovers V Burnley confrontations.
Never be in gloat mode:
Barnsley 3 Burnley 2................Out of the Carling Cup.
Notts Forest 0 Rovers 1...........Still in the Carling Cup.

most of the posts by Rovers fans are moaning about playing one up front.. you lot made your own bed so you better lie in it... sold Santa Cruz but he would not even been playing cos he's knackerd ...seems to me that when you get stuffed 3-0 and concede 8 goals in 5 games you should worry about the defence.

If you had been at the game..as i was...you would have seen the bulk of his descisions going Villa's Way! Down to 10 men, we still had more shots than villa, more shots on target than villa, and a greater share of possesion than villa!! Yeh...proper result!

Watched Football First Taggy, well worth the three points yesterday, the only downer was the red card, why do people persistently try Paul Scholes tackles when not needed, in the middle of the park, De Sant played well as did Dunny, great result:mosher:

Yep your right Jaysay, i'm not convinced about Grella at all, both Dunny and De Santo played really well, dont know how Dunny didn't get Man of the Match! De Santo is an altogether different proposition to Roberts and looks much more menacing, he should be given a run now...he'll be some player in a few years...unfortunately not ours!!! Pedersen continues to dissapoint and i think he needs to be left out....there also a bit of niggle developing between him and Dunny which needs watching, Dunny wasn't happy with his work rate on a couple of occasions yesterday, and didn't hold back from letting him know!

Personally I would rather stay quiet and let the Rovers fans tell us how they are going to hammer us. If they do I will be very pleased given their track record on this board in April & May ;)
