Parachute payments for clubs relegated from the prem are to be increased, from 2 to 4 years, two years at £16 million then 2 years at £8 million aprox

Dont agree with it! It rewards failure and does nothing for teams lower down the leagues!

I don't think it's a good thing.. Newcastle and West Brom were relegated from the prem last season and both bounce back up this season!.. nothing against those clubs but the "money for nothing" must be a massive advantage., specially for Newcastle cos they still get 40,000+ fans turning up for home games and already have a good income.

The good thing about that is the parachute payments they would have recieved next season is shared among the rest of the football league.

I don't agree with it bit it doesn't suprise me that they have voted for more. One season in the Premier League is enough to see they look after themselves first and foremost. Barry Kilby was amongst a group of chairman trying to get it scrapped season before last, I bet he hasn't voted against it this time :D

Spot on Dave it was a unanimous vote, but no doubt Kilby will be campaigning against it in 4 years time:D

If it is extended to four years it will not come into force until after next season

As with the timing of the formation of the Premier League looks like Rovers will get lucky again ;)
