Rooney ain't been the same player even before the world cup... no goals since late March.. he looks a yard slower than last season and don't look like he's enjoying the game.. a couple of times he is playing the ball off when he would usually just whack it.. but players like Rooney don't go crap overnight, the lad will be back! ;)

The fat lad should ease up on the pies, or maybe United have signed his less skillful twin brother, sure as hell was a waste of space again last night:)

He did set up Fletcher's goal, but must admit he has not been the Rooney we all love since his injury at the back end of last season.
Beware, he will be back, with a vengeance.:D:D:D

Spanked by the proper "Mancs" last night, what a pitiful performance by the "Pool". Still credit where it's due City played some really good football, a deserved win, if we have any intentions of being contenders we need to buck our ideas up smartish. :o

Oh dear. what a shame, never mind. The gentlemen from Liverpool got stuffed again, but of course they are not used to winning, so nothing has changed for them even though they have got a decent bloke as a manager now.

I wouldn't gloat to much Barrie your lot have not really covered yourselves with glory in their first two matches and against what are in the scheme of things noncoms, the Pool have played the Gooners and the True Mancs, you've still got to play them:rolleyes:

just watched Liverpool v Sunderland and i've never seen a more one sided ref... Gerrard should have been off for a blatant elbow.. the pool gaolie steamrolled a sunderland striker in the box and nowt from the ref... pool's first gaol was a complete joke.. despite all this and over 7 mins of injury time the scouse ******* still almost got beat. ! :D

Stelling & Nicholas could not understand it - they both reckon that there should be a Referee's spokesman to explain decisions like those.
I fully agree with that idea.
But what a day for the Creme, and they didn't even kick a ball.

For once I agree with you Mancie, what a plank, think Bruce kept his cool very well under the circumstances. The ref by the way was the same ref that gave the goal that never was against I think Watford and Reading the ball didn't go anywhere near the goal but he gave it:D

Pretty sure we will be contesting the European Championship AGAIN this season. Better to have taken part every year of the Premiership than just be involved once - and failed just once

Sometimes I let it show that I am a pillock but this wasn't one of them - good old cut and paste. Yes it was twice for the European Championship and once for the European Cup - which are really the same things.
Rovers did quialify once but not sure how far they got - suspect it was not too far:-)))

Bob, you have to be taking the P? - watching the Ryder Cup so haven't bothered with football today.
Still have a real soft spot for the Tangerines, watched them in their heyday and even took "Carry On" there to watch them play Arsenal.

Dave, I am sure that in some future time - another season maybe will surely see an improvement - the fans demand that and eventually they will get their wish - but for the moment they are something that rhymes with "might".

So true Alan, but in the mean time we can have a bit of good natured fun at each others, and ourselves, expense. There could be many twists and turns this season, but I still think that United and Chelsea will be fighting it out for the title:)

Mancie, have you ever stopped to consider that City fans might just go along for the football and camarderie. Unlike the win at all cost brigades, city have always had a fantastic fan base that follow them through thick and thin. One hell of a lot of united and Chelsey fans will drop them like a hot potato if they start losing big time and then follow another sucsesful club whomever that might be. Lemmings spring to mind.

I think you'd have found gynn that any club in that position, their fans would have done exactly the same, ask any Stanley fan on here, the only club who wouldn't need to do that is Man Un as their fans already live there:rolleyes:

I can see this working for Liverpool the tie ins between the Red Sox & Liverpool will be interesting to see develop in that both have ready made markets in their respective countries.

I will be at Anfield for the next home game against Rovers so will be interesting to see first hand the developments particulary from a fan point of view and the players from a body language point of view.

Hopefully the resurrgence begins tomorrow in the merseyside derby for my second "Red" team.

Fair enough.. Pool at home to Chelslea this week.. mixed feelings here because I never want Liverpool to win any games.. but if United beat Wolves and Liverpool beat Chelsea the gap is down to 2 points .... but sorry Dave I still hope Chelsea hammer you at Anfield.. if only to see the half full Kop doing the usual "stand and stare" stuff they have been known for over the last 20yrs.:)
