Re: Capello gone
Can't say I'm upset about it, I think the FA should now appoint a temp English manager for the Championships in June.
I reckon Stuart Pearce will take over for now but he'll have to forget about managing the British team in the Olympics. |

Re: Capello gone
Not that fussed, was optimistic when he took the job, But have been convinced he wasn't that interested n only took the job fer the dosh, England aint improved since his tenure, His command of english aint that great n hes had enough time to master that, I assume its cos of the Terry thing? Which fer me fer once the F.A. made the correct descision, n had to do so cos Capello hadn't the guts or the common sense to make.

I hope the FA don't rush to try and sign up a new manager for the long term....for me they can give the team coach driver the job temp as long as he is English.. we were going into the Euro Championship without much hope anyway so not much harm can be done. |

Re: Capello gone
Well looking at the morning papers there's only one person up for the job and now that he's sorted out his little problem with HM Revenue and Customs, thats happy Harry at Spurs now the coasts is clear. Mind you the job of England head coach is the poison challis really Kevin Keegan was the Messiah until the press got stuck in, that's the only problem in this country we have the knack of put people up to knock um down and those who do the knocking are usually those who were failed sportsmen themselves, you can never win in England

Re: Capello gone
Although I agree with his stance on the Terry issue, I don't think that it is a bad idea that he has gone. I follow England in all international competitions; they have a large following in Canada. But, it is obvious that they under-perform ... even tho, at the last World Cup, their ineptitude was overshadowed by that of Italy and France. Harry seems to be the front runner for the job, but will he want it considering he has created a title contender at Spurs? Maybe Big Sam. He's English through and through. If the FA decides in their lack of wisdom to appoint a furriner, why not Wenger? He's likely to be out of a job come the end of the season. He knows football, and he speaks better English than 'Arry. Or Jose Mourinho? Knows football; he's young; speaks great English; familiar with the English game.

Re: Capello gone
Believe he's gone back to his old job as Postman Pat. :D:D

Re: Capello gone
Thing is though to me Eric i think his stance was wrong, cos any person in work who is accused of summat regarded as serious, The normal practice is to suspend em until the disciplinary hearing, Fact. So unless yeh don't regard football as a job? Then to me it should be the same principle.
