Scottish PL
The match between Inverness Cally Thistle v Celtic kicked of at 12 noon today so I watched the first have on ESPN, this was between first and second in the league, Celtic ran out 3-1 winners opening up an 18 point gap at the top. I never had much faith in Scottish football prior to the demise of Rangers, but its now a really Micky mouse league, can anybody remember the last team to win the top division in Scotland other than Celtic and Rangers, I'm having trouble, and as for Rangers in the Third Div. its about a standard below the conference

Re: Scottish PL
the last 4 years the standard of football has been not very good in the spl this season has been a joke since the only show in town has not been there .the full of the spl only had 29,000 spectators today while rangers got 46,000.we will win the 3rd but next year if they dont change the leagues we might struggle as i dont rate mcoist as a manager hes a coach but management is a step too much.the standard of football aint up to much and most are part time.at least scottish clubs are starting to try and bring young players through instead of blowing wages on over rated players from abroad.the future who knows .rangers are playing mostly under 21 players.

Re: Scottish PL
Sevco are focusing too much on attendances rather than revenue. Every team in the world would amass capacity crowds with ticket prices like these!

Re: Scottish PL
The myth that the old firm revolves around religious hatred is garbage in my opinion, or at least for one team anyway. Celtic were founded in 1887 with an opening statement saying "A football Club will be formed for the maintenance of dinner tables for the children and unemployed", not that this club is for the Irish Catholics who have immigrated here, albeit they were the majority in need back then. Rangers however felt threatened by these immigrants and based their identity off the opposite of what Celtic were. This is why Rangers never signed a Catholic player till the 1980s when Souness signed then Celtic player Mo Johnstone, with Souness later revealing that the Rangers board had advised he didn't sign any Catholics in order to not upset any Rangers fans. Protestant manager Jock Stein summed it up perfectly:
"Jock, if there were two players, one Catholic and one Protestant. Who would you sign?" "The Protestant" "Why?" "Because I know that Rangers would never sign the Catholic". Celtic is and always will be a club open to all, no sectarian songs have been sung at Celtic Park for years and it will continue to be this way. The same cannot be said for Rangers however when they seem to content for singing 'The Famine Song' and adding the little 'F*ck the pope and the vatican' when singing Follow Follow |

Re: Scottish PL
misinformed. rangers have had catholics before the 80s johnny hubbard naming one celtic dont have anybody but catholics on the board hence why jock stein was never given a place on the board he was given the football pools to run both were as bad as each other .hopefully time away from each other will lessen the daftness. the press up here stir it the snp stir it by creating laws which just make it ten times worse by antagonising idiots on both sides ftp the famine song etc havent been sung at ibrox for 2 years as they are banned .we have moved on we have had catholic captains amuroso who went to blackburn among few gattuso arteta van bronckhurst porrini mo johnston:p most people dont care what religion players are it producing the goods on the pitch that counts.just thinking if we kept most of that team together it would have been some team.
