Paulo Di Canio

Just a question:

All the furore about Mr Di Canio being a self confessed fascist, would he get the same attention from the bandwagon if he had declared himself a communist?

cashman 03-04-2013 07:18

Re: Paulo Di Canio

Whats puzzling me about it all, Why when he was manager of Swindon - No furore? Seems like double standards to me, Still nowt new wi the press that.

Re: Paulo Di Canio

The media attention might be in response to David Millibands resignation as a director, regarding something he said years ago while playing football in Italy, it now appears politics is worming its way into football now:(

Re: Paulo Di Canio

Thats exactly what i reckon it is.:(

Re: Paulo Di Canio

I thought Milliband was going to resign from the Sunderland Board for the same reason he has given for resigning as an MP - he is taking up a job in the USA.
It appears to me that he is seeking an alternative reason for resigning, not the fact that he has now got a much more lucrative position - how could he meet his responsibilities as a director of Sunderland and an MP when he is working and living in the USA?

Tevez has got away with driving while disqualified and without insurance banned 6 months, 250 community service, £1000 fine, wonder whether I'd have got the same treatment if it had been me, doubt it, but I'm not an high profile footballer.

I grew up with the Braysfords. Billy was a bit younger than me, Clive was just older, we mated out for years in the seventies, sadly he died a few years ago, there were to younger brothers think they're still roaming round Ossy somewhere, could well have been one of those

When did Borstal start and finish cashy, I'm very cloudy on this, I remember a guy from our class at school, think I was 12 at the time, was sent away, I always thought it was borstal, or has that just come into my mind over the years:confused:

Very rarely was anyone under 17 sent to Borstal, Though i have known odd uns at 16 n 15 but no younger n that. Can remember a lad of 12 i think it was from gateshead who got life fer stabbing a copper, he was put in approved school first n then moved to borstal as he got older think that was 17.

Just had a look on the Web it seems Borstal was for youths between 16 and 21 Cashy, were abolished, in 1982 and replaced with youth detention centres

Thats inaccurate there were detention centres in the 60s, I know loads that went to Buckley Hall near Rochdale, n also detention was a much shorter term 3 months, Borstal was 6 month to 2 Years. So they never replaced em, they were all that were left when they scrapped Borstals.;)
