Just great Guitar Solos

I could have posted several dozen, but I present these for your perusal.
Mr David Gilmour, one quarter of Pink Floyd. and Mr Larry Carlton, a guitarist you will never have heard of but he has worked with so many you will most likely have heard his work.

Enjoy

Re: Just great Guitar Solos

My favourite guitar solo is Jimmy Page's Dazed And Confused (the version on Led Zeppelin 1, NOT the various lengthy live versions which go on for far too long).

Personally I find Jimi Hendrix as the greatest Rock guitarist.
Try this by Alvin Lee of Ten Years After

Or maybe Gary Rossington and Allen Collins of Lynyrd Skynyrd playing Freebird. it has been rumoured that I and my Captain (of our corporate jet) have been known to Air Guitar to this in Oslo when very drunk, with only my Ipod and sound dock for company.

Frank Zappa's solo on Transylvania Boogie from the album Chunga's Revenge is another toe tapper. Connected to other threads on here, Frank was very much opposed to drug use and spoke against it.

SRV was one of the finest, sad to hear of his death, however Doyle Bramhall II was his understudy, worth checking out

I can't argue with that. So few albums released in his lifetime but all innovative. I've always had a soft spot for the long version of Voodoo Chile.
