Great Football Map
http://footballclubs.dyndns.org/
It contains a map of England along with zoomed-in maps of larger cities and/or areas of England with more than one football club. The maps are HUGE and the site takes a bit of time to load even on broadband, but I think it's well worth it for passioniate football fans. It shows all Premiership, Coca Cola Football League, and Nationwide Football Conference teams, so there are quite a few teams shown. Each team's stadium is marked with a little soccer ball on the maps. |
Re: Great Football Map
what a great site, cheers for that bazf, I really like the way that if you click on any of them it takes you straight to their own website.

er............why? If you click on the Accrington Stanly label on that website it brings you to this familiar place:p You may have to jiggle it a bit to find Accy but it's there. |
Re: Great Football Map
This is a nice idea and very amusing for many of the younger supporters out there in the world. Nice link Bazf…… Adam don’t be a dick.

Re: Great Football Map
why am I, i'm not the only one who said it was a good map. It's awesome for directions. I only wish they did one for training grounds. That would make my life a lot easier.

Re: Great Football Map
i have no karma!!! what happens now? do i die????

Re: Great Football Map
Well, am I the only one who cannot see the point of this map! and to take the biscuit, there is one glaring omission, where the hell is the llink to Wigan Athletic's site - not on the Manchester clubs page and nowhere on the map that I could find. Now I know they are not a fashionable club, but they are Premiership by right. Still I will be there on Wednesday night and bringing 5 sad sods from said football club. Could well be a painful journey home, or I just make them catch the bus lol!

Re: Great Football Map
I've had an attempted karma adjustment for this post: Quote:
However, I shall assume that my post caused someone some confusion and so: To whom it may concern......... if you simply mean that you don't understand my post I shall try to explain to you. I queried why someone in response to this link to a Great Football Map should have said "eat your heart out" to Kipax when in fact the Accrington Stanley website itself actually features on the Great Football Map. You need to jiggle the map about a bit to find Accrington but once you do, and click on it you will find yourself directed to a very familiar website (ie the Accy Stanley one) Hope that clarifies my post for you. If you click on the blue words in my post you will be directed to exactly the same link. :) |
Re: Great Football Map
Thanks HarwoodRed for the info. and to Bazf, thanks for the cutting remark.

Re: Great Football Map
Thanks for the link, Bazf. This will be a big help for those of us who are somewhat geographically challenged.

Re: Great Football Map
Baz,
Some updates at last for the map I've dropped the "noisy" main England in favor of an even larger map which is easier on the eyes. Also, if you narrow down which clubs are shown by choosing a league in the upper-left corner dropdown menu, the crests for the clubs which reside in the cities/areas with multiple clubs will be shown next to the "multi club" soccer balls. I've got a couple more enhancements coming just need the time. http://footballclubs.dyndns.org/footballclubs/ |
Re: Great Football Map
Hey guys, thanks for the discussion on the map site I created. I'm admittedly not a regular here, but I saw in my hit counter that someone came to my site from this forum thread. I've worked extremely hard to make the site and I'm thrilled that others have gotten some good use from it. I've honestly taken all feedback to heart and I've implemented many enhancements to the site based on the feedback. Please check it out again, if you haven't lately. I've added a bigger map and searching based on club/league really has helped navigation out. Please feel free to e-mail me at yabewatch@mail.com if you have any comments/suggestions/feedback. Thanks and please help me continue to promote the site by sharing it with others. Take care.
