Paul Mullin

Nice to see Paul Mullin pick up the Man of the Match award in the bar last night.

Although full-time footy has come at a late stage in his career,Paul is still improving and this season could prove to be his best. A tremendous team player!

Re: Paul Mullin

Yep, I thought he wouldn't make the step up to the conference but here he is in his third season, an absolute bargain, a good guy, a brilliant man to lead the line, fitter than he has ever been

just wish he was a little more selfish at times & had a little mean nasty streak like john Coleman had

Mullers has been Stanley's best player for many a year. Although not blessed in terms of pace, you will very rarely see him waste a ball played to his feet. He takes defenders out of the game and delivers to a red shirt. Good as guarantees 20 goals a year yet does not take penalties. 4 out of 5 years he has won Players Player of the Year. They appreciate him, we appreciate him and long live King Mully. Have a shave though eh?

Re: Paul Mullin

Even if he doesn't score any more goals this year - Paul Mullin will be player of the year.

A player who possesses the most magnetic touch in non-league football, often with a deadly eye for goal. Had he been blessed with pace - he would be Premiership. I have no doubt.

Sure Paul Mullin, from what I have seen/heard is Stanley's greatest ever player?

anyone agree? I know Coley night not - perhaps it is the gaffer.

Re: Paul Mullin

Paul Beck, Chris Grimshaw, Ashley Hoskin, Eddie Johnstone/ Stuart Owen, many candidates for Best Player Ever, Paul Mullin would certainly be up there, anyone got stats on games played vs goals scored, Paul Beck vs Paul Mullin? Will Paul Mullen keep goal in his final appearance for the club, Will he ever have as bad a 'tache. New thread for greatest team? Any room for John McNally on the bench?

Re: Paul Mullin

Paul Mullin the best player ever at Stanley? I don't think so. But that's not to say that he isn't the best signing we've ever made in recent times. I've always admired Mullin, not only for his goals, but for the 100% effort he gives every game.

Best player ever must be Haggis. He's certainly the most prolific goalscorer we've ever had.
However, for all round goal scoring prowess and general charisma, then nobody touches Becky. He is and always will be a legend in these parts. ;)

Re: Paul Mullin

i'll give you Haggis, his record was outstanding, however it must not be forgot that a lot of his fortune was in lancs comb and Cheshire league etc. Yes I know that he was good enough to be transferred to and play for Blackburn, but for me Beck was king, went on a year too long although his substitute cameo and hat trick against Hyde form 3 down was class in a tache. If we are talking pound for pound hows Brett Ormerod. Not enough games/goals to be a contender but surely the most succesful red in history?

As a Striker & Manager nobody has shaped the new Accy Stanley more than JC!

Coley for me!

Darren Woodhead 23-09-2005 19:08

Re: Paul Mullin

Although Haggis is a true Stanley legend, you cannot compare his goals with Paul Mullin's. The league's Stanley played in those days were mere 'Pie and Peas' leagues compared to this national league.

Best Player Ever is a good debate. What criteria are we having?
How many seasons do they have to have played?

One player who made a massive impact on the club and helped to move us to a new level is Lutel James.

Mark Shirley, Paul Beck and Chris Grimshaw are other contenders!

Let Battle Commence!!!
