The Real Story behind The Roof !
 

As some of you know, I've been fundraising for the Clayton End roof for several years now. You'll probably remember me selling thousands of poundsworth of tickets for the Christmas Raffle ". . . all proceeds going towards the new Clayton End Stand - we'll have a roof over your heads in January". Then I sold hundreds of poundsworth of different raffle tickets which were going to provide a roof over your heads and a reverberation for your voices. Then, you may recall, I came amongst you begging for yet more money with the absolute promise that you would have a Clayton Roof over your heads " . . . before the start of next season".

You've been amazingly generous as I've collected many thousands of pounds in cash from you, so I think that you deserve an answer as to where all that money has gone.

Well folks, as I lay here, sipping a large Gin and Tonic, on the verandah of my luxurious beachside villa in Barbados . . .
