Stanley live on Radio 1 All next week on the Colin and Edith Show
 

The office staff have been given the chance to become celebrities in their own right next week when they are set to appear live on Radio 1 all week. The Colin and Edith Show is on between 1pm-4pm and the staff including, Rob Heys, Karen Fazackerley, Hannah Bailey, Vikki Gilmartin and maybe even Eric Whalley will all be being interviewed throughout the week everyday with some of their favourite songs played on the Lunchtime Link-up. It is the first time that Radio 1 have gone to a football club to do this, and we are very happy to be their first one. It creates great national publicity for the club so remember to tune in between 1pm-4pm for all our personal interviews for the whole of next week!

Excellent stuff, thanks Mike, although I think they are milking the advert a bit too much now. Can any one tell me does the club still get paid for the ad when it’s on air?

shouldn't think so. I am sure that John Alty sold the rights for £5000 and that was a once only payment.

Expect more and more of it if we carry on the way we are (milk ad mentions I mean) - typical media crappyness... but better than no media crappyness :)

Just think how many fans we have made and all the shirts we have made and i doubt we would have been on sky and bbc half as much as your average conf team E.g Hereford and Morcambe :p

It's not been run for something like 15 years now, has it? Wasn't the last time it got a run in a campaign about 91/92? IIRC it was replaced then with an ad featuring Paul Whitehouse as his "Brilliant" character from The Fast Show exclaiming how brilliant milk is.

I don't recall seeing it at all since then.

(Though, it wouldn't surprise me if they dust it off for a run later in the year...)

:) Irrespective of what it may or may not have done for the club I always hated the thing with a vengeance and still do…..It was the basis for many an arse to take the piddle out of me and my home town just because I came from Accrington and had an accent. Bastards should be drowned in the stuff…..

I don’t think the advert was that successful in its own right, particularly when you consider it was displaced by a Humphrey.:D

Great publicity Karen... The club should be in top gear now all this publicity can only be good for the profile of the club, i'm hope somebody has contacted milk marque ?? good money can be made from projects like these.

Talking of making money !! Why is the club shop so poorly stocked ?? i appreciate we may have sold some gear but empty shelves wont make a penny.
