Season Tickets 06/07
Any early indications available as to what the cost is going to be???
I've had it with David Moyes and his long ball ****e and ive had it with the politics of premiership football so next season i'll be jumping on full time. Its going to be a wrench after 12 consecutive years to pack it in but football at the top just isn't like it used to be is it, for me the enjoyment has gone out of it. Im sick of referees who have agents, im sick of the control Sky has over the game and im sick of how the FA are afraid to punish the top 4 clubs for anything but will beat down the rest at every opportunity. Maybe some Rovers fans are feeling the same?? It would be lovely to get a nice base of 2500 plus for every game next year, maybe even more, wouldn't it!?! If anyone else is feeling similar things I reckon they should do the same. Gate receipts are nothing to a premiership club, its all about the sky money and the league placings money, every place being worth an additional 500k. An average premiership club will make approximitely 3 times their gate receipt revenue from TV money and league placings, some even more. I think this leads to something of a 'couldn't care less' attitude towards the fans. To a team like stanley though the fans are obviously still the lifeblood of the club, gate receipts being the single biggest revenue stream I would assume?? I think it would be absolutely magic if more people binned off the politics of the premiership and jumped on the stanley bandwagon and who knows maybe with the extra income it would allow us to challenge for ANOTHER promotion?? Speaking of politics I think im starting to sound like one....vote with your feet...vote stanley;) |

Good for you Staveros !:D :D :D
Personally. I think the whole Premier League stinks of money, money, money - and though all clubs need money to survive, this concentration has inevitably caused most of the clubs (if not all) to stray far away from what I thought football was supposed to be about. As a recent convert to the Stanley cause (it took me 50 years to have my eyes opened, but oh how !:) ), I have found nothing but friendliness in the Stanley "family" and all the fans that I have met have given me a very warm welcome, despite the fact that I don't know very much about football or tactical awareness etc. I would be very sad if this wonderful atmosphere were to disappear if (as we hope), Stanley make steady progress through the ranks. Would I have received the same warm reception at a Premier League club ? I very much doubt it !!!   Thanks to all at Stanley for making me so welcome - and for giving us all such magic moments this season !:D :D :D :D :engsmil: STANLEY ARE BACK !!! :not_ripe: :not_ripe: :not_ripe: LOOK OUT LEAGUE DIV TWO !!! :engsmil: CONFERENCE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 2005/2006 |
Re: Season Tickets 06/07
Got to say I agree with most of what you say Staveros. But what if Stanley, over the years, climb through the divisions and attain premiership status ? Do we then abandon them and find another club to support ?

Re: Season Tickets 06/07
I'm a season ticket holder at PNE so i only go to watch stanley when i'm not at PNE. I managed to make about 8 home games last season and Halifax and Southport away. The first game I went to I thought the atmostphere would be fairly flat due to there being no roof because at Brighton Vs Pne no atmostphere could be created because the sound just went out he ground. But the atmostphere isnt that bad and i enjoy going to watch Stanley. I also last summer holidays i came to get my stanley shirt, could only get blue away one though

Can,t agree more with what has already been said i have only followed stanley for the last couple of seasons and the football has been a joy to watch each player giving 100% or more win or lose.the problem i have with top flight football is all the over paid (and in some cases over rated) prima donnas in the game now some of who would fall over and claim foul if someone in the crowd sneezed, also i think a match should be more of a family occasion but with some of the prices that are charged by top clubs how on earth do they expect to get youngsters through the turnstiles.

In fact I think under League 2 legislation you'll probably have to. Welcome aboard, Staveros, although from your speech, I thought you might have gone for a non league team. |

You can have any avatar you want on here, as I believe, this will always be an Independant forum for ASFC, as will the Ultras one
