To all the doubters and trouble makers starting posts on here about the roof.. Read tonights Observer wheres there an excellent letter from Ilyas Khan in the sports pages clearing all this up.. Although its only a few doubters that needed telling... Now you get it from the horses mouth (no dissrespect to Ilyas.. or horses :) )

I dont live in Accy so cant get hold of the Observer so any chance you could let us know in brief what it says.

that he gave the money as a donation to the club as he loves us so much :) and this can be used in any way the club deems best. But in return the club has gievn him naming rights for the roof when it gets built :)

Cheers John, i knew he had donated some money and thats why we now have the Sophia Khan Stand, If i win the lottery this week i`ll buy us a roof for both terraces.

Oh yeah forgot we wont be able to swap ends next season, ok then what i save on the second roof i`ll put into building us a nice big lounge that we can go and have a pint in at half time, and i`ll buy the first beer.

Doubters, troublemakers listen up...the man(men wink) has spoken... But it WAS the fans that DID speak about having to watch the a game in the new season without a roof. Not tapping on about it for to long. Point made, point addressed blessedly belatedly....

O my god.....SHUT UP ABOUT THE ROOF!

It's boring. roof roof roof, never mind the fact we won the conference as long as you get your precious roof.

never mind asking ilyas khan for a roof, it's ERIC WHALLEY who decides about the roof and any other stanley business, no one else, he is the person who decides when the roof is built, & at the moment he is far too busy making sure all the necessary changes are made to the ground in order for us to play in the football league.

I take it you can't detect sarcasm then little bunny. My point on the roof has been made and is shared by many. That particular post was tongue in cheek. I thought it was obvious but just for you I shall go back and edit it with a little smiley-winky thing.

Kippax - Dont get too excited! yes I have just read the letter from Ilyas Khan in the Accrington Observer and there is no doubt he is extremely generous,sincere and a real asset to the club. However even after reading the article I still think the question that I asked (regarding the use of his funds) was a completely valid one. I dont like being called a trouble maker, infact i have been a loyal supporter for the last ten years. However I do think this subject is becoming a bit of a yawn for the readers of the message board. :sleep8: LETS ALL LIGHTEN UP ABIT! :smile8:
