Barry dingle kilby
Moanin about police deciding to put stanley & the yorkshire team at home on the same days. poor yorkshire team might loose many accringtonian clarets but i doubt it as records show attendances up vastly when rovers are not playin and when the yorkshire team are not playin slight increase. Police made a good decision on policing grounds. The reds will benefit from this though

Re: Barry dingle kilby
the thing wat he was saying though was a good one, with rovers in europe they will be playing mid week games this means that alot of their saturday games are moved to a sunday therefore it could have been better for stanley to play at the same time as rovers as then the people would have been able to go to both......only problem with that is that rovers will probably get knocked out by some polish team weve never heard of in first round and then be playing back on a saturday :)

Re: Barry dingle kilby
Its Stanley who will lose out on aproximately £100k as reported.
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
well how much would it be with the tables turned ? 300k
Kilby is sulking for his own club purposes he is scared of losing accy based clarets. :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
Why worry about how much Burnley will lose. They are both fighing the same case, Stanley will lose £100k in revenue. Mr Whalley and Kilby are trying to do the best for both clubs, which is for Rovers and Accy to play on the same weekend. As we all know there is more Burnley fans who come to watch Accy than Rovers.

Re: Barry dingle kilby
Think it would've been better if Stanley were playing at home when Rovers were playing on Sunday due to mid-week commitments, as the fixture would've been the only league match in North East Lancs on the day and, as such, an attractive proposition to casual fans. Can't see where this £100,000 figure has come from, though. How can anybody possibly work that out? If this decision stands, I can see the club trying to arrange a few Friday night matches.

Re: Barry dingle kilby
I think we will find that a lot of the footballing decisions on when to play will be taken out of our hands now we are a league team! The police WILL have to be involved in all decisions and having read the story, I can see the police point of view, but in the case of all local derbies, or clashes in fixtures (which is bound to happen at some point), could they not detach in from another area for the day? After all - aren't they supposed to be Lancashire Police, not Eastern and Pennine areas as seperate forces. Lancashire consists of 6 areas of which only 4 have league teams, Pennine (Burnley) Eastern (Stanley and Rovers), Central (PNE) and Fylde (Blackpool) - surely then the other 2 areas can assist or if the worst came to the worst, mutual assistance with forces outside Lancashire (much as the Fire Service do). Cannot see Stanley needing that many police on duty as I should think most of our matches will be Cat C with the odd Cat B and A when more policing will be required. Though the figure of 100k being banded around is just pure guess work from the revenue potentially lost by supporters going to one match rather than two.

Re: Barry dingle kilby
The figure has already been downsized to £70,000, so I think there's a fair bit of guesswork involved. Still, a lot money for a club of Stanley's size to lose.
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
Can you still not see where this figure has come from :)
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
Maths isn't my strong point, but, yes, I can see. Just think it's a very, very rough estimate, which could be affected by all sorts of variables. Whatever, it's still very bad news for Stanley, as I've been told that Rovers will only be playing seven home matches on a Saturday this season!

Re: Barry dingle kilby
WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS !!!!!! NO NOTHING U DINGLES IN DISGUISE EVERYONE I RECOGNISE AT MATCHES ARE RELATED OR HAVE BEEN TO OTHER CLUBS AND IF U CAN SAY STANLEYSINCE I WAS BORN U WUD HAVE TO BE AT LEAST 50 YEARS OLD OR 5 AND UNDER
OTHERWISE U KNOW UR KIDDIN NO ONE E.G ATTENDANCES IN 1980s & 1990s GREG POPE ON BANDWAGON NOW WITH FALSE RECORDS CHECK THE DATES LAST SEASONS FIXTURE LISTS AND DATES ARE AVAILABLE I WONDER IF THE DATES WHEN DINGLES 'HAVE BEEN AWAY OR NO GAME' COINCIDE WITH ROVERS HAVIN NO GAME OR PLAYIN SUNDAY :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: BAD KARMA U CALLED ME THICKO THEN MADE SEVERAL SPELLING MISTAKES U MUST BE ONE OF THE INTERINGLES |

Re: Barry dingle kilby
What you shouting at AccyRed&Blue? Actually to have supported Stanley since you were born you would have to be 44 or older or if you have supported the side since '68 then 38 or younger - me I fall into the 44 or older category. and what the hell has Greg Pope got to do with it. The whole point of the argument is that there are more Burnley/Stanley fans than Rovers/Stanley fans and as Rovers are in Europe playing games on a Sunday would not necessitate the Police having too many problems with 2 games in the same Police Division (eastern) on the same day. Even so, i could see Eric looking at the possibility of playing games on a Friday night - as that bumped up the attendances last year.

Re: Barry dingle kilby
When Stanley played Crewe in the FA Cup at Ewood the attendance was double than when Stanley played Scunthorpe at Turd Moor "Fact"
I rest my case :Banane47: |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
Rest your case all you want but Burnley bring more fans to Stanley currently than Rovers "FACT" :)
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
It is not a "fact" that burnley currently bring more fans than rovers it is an "opinion" which means it is not known for sure who do actually bring more fans so this is a pointless topic but I will go back to my FACT stated above in which the figures state who do bring more supporters numbers speak louder than words at the end of the day a burnley fan is going to say they bring more fans and the same for rovers but there is proof that rovers bring more
ACCY STANLEY FAN :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: :Banane25: :Banane25: :engsmil: :engsmil: :engsmil: |

is that not the fact that rovers have more fans than burnley???
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
Isn't it great when Rovers and Burnley fans are arguing over who brings more people to watch Stanley :D
|
Re: Barry dingle kilby
im not arguing for either team as I support stanley ONLY but when I go to matches there seems to be alot more rovers fans there than burnley and I know fans from both teams by the way as I am neutral to burnley and rovers it just seems to me that blackburn bring more support to stanley
:Banane47: :Banane47: :Banane47: :Banane47: |
Re: Barry dingle kilby

no the point is that rovers bring more support to stanley than burnley fans IMO |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
my opinion of the Turf Moor/Ewood park games is that the attendance was affected by the fact that very few of the Rovers orientated Stanleyites would step foot inside Turf Moor, whereas the Burnley fans didn't give a toss and went to the game at Ewood anyway. This is fact based on only the people that I know.
As far as losing revenue is concerned it is reasonably unarguable as many Burnley fans who go to Stanley have told me they will probably watch more Stanley games this year as a result of our league status, more appealing fixtures and the ability to stand and watch matches rather than sit at an increasingly un-atmospheric Turf Moor (I also think Ewood is rather souless unless you are amongst the favoured few on the Darwen end). I am under 30 and have only ever supported Stanley even as a six year old when replica shirts were unavailable so I had to rip the Crown Paints of a Liverpool shirt as that was the most similar. I have watched one Burnley match because I had a free ticket (I sat with the Leicester fans) and one Rovers match where me and my nephew left early because in his words (ten year old) its not like watching Stanley. Get back to plastic-ville Rovers fan. |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
I've always thought there are more Dingles then Cackburn fans at Stanley, but I'm just judging by the amoun t of their mechandise I see worn at the FES

Re: Barry dingle kilby
who eat(ate?) all the pies - The Accy V Scunthorpe game was played on a Sunday if my memory serves me correctly?? I was there that day. You must remember we were only just out of the 4th division at that time, with Rovers playing premiership football with considerably larger home attendances. There were around 5,500 on the Scunthorpe game(Sunday as mentioned earlier) which was OVER half our usual home attendance. 11,000 at Ewood at that time would have been only slightly more, with that only being the case due to the works being carried out at Ewwod around that time!

Spot on Clogger, like we care about your petty arguments about "we have more fans that go to stanley" "no, we do"
Its childish and boring, go back onto your own forum (if you even have one):p |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
They both miss the point anyway.
When we played Crewe we'd beaten 5 teams to get to the second round. There'd been considerable media attention and the bandwagon had been given the opportunity to build up support. When we played Scunthorpe we'd only played one game (Altrincham in the 4th Qualifying round) and so there wasn't as much hype and interest. |
Re: Barry dingle kilby
having read all of this can i say how bored i am!!
