Stand on what is the Whinney Hill Terrace with changing rooms beneath and seating for at least 5,000. Roof over both ends of the field and Disabled facilities for the away fans in the away end.

Hehehe, whenever I go to a match, Stanley always score when I'm sat on the loo. Therefore I would put TV facilities in all of the toilets...:D

Well, Kiwi John, you've posed a really challenging and imaginative question.

You ask whether the money should be spent perhaps on players, and you also suggest that facilities should be an option.
Outback Ozzy makes an intelligent (if optimistic!) suggestion of how the money might be used in creating a Whinney Hill Stand, and I like his proposals for disabled supporters.

I'm firmly in the camp of facilities, facilities and more facilities.

Macca(etc) made a valid point recently that various supporters' organisations can only make a small impact on ASFC's income - it's really down to how many clicks can be heard through the turnstiles.

My own (admittedly limited) research over the last two years of how and why fans return to a Stanley home game indicates that the football result, i.e. win, lose or draw, is ninth on the list of their priorities.

Visiting Accrington Stanley for a football match should be an enjoyable and memorable experience ; only investment in spectator facilities can ensure that enjoyment and therefore guarantee that the people of Accrington will come back again and again.

Oh, BTW Shakermaker, great idea about going back to the club's roots but in 1962 there were probably only about 45 people who went to the match by car, so you'd need another £10 million in 2006 to buy out the local streets and bulldoze them for a car park ;) .
