As long as it keeps us all dry is the only thing that matters.I'm sure we would be able to generate some noise and create a real atmosphere even with a temporary roof. The main thing is I don't think it will cost a lot to put up.

It certainly is.And once winter really sets in and its blowing a gale and snowing no-one wants to stand there freezin there knackers off.As long as we have some sort of shelter from the elements, where we can stand and shout the team on, instead of ppl leaving early wet through and fed up, which will not encourage ppl to come bk in a hurry. Why can't the club get the basics right in the first place then we wouldn't have to worry about attendances. If we have proper cover then surely we will attract more ppl.

I think the tarp idea is excellent. Should have the same effect as waterproofing all the ultras flags! Obviously, the away fans would take the p*ss out of our Clayton end tent but who cares if we're dry and they're not! Besides, how many stadiums have convertible roofs? The ultras could possibly do a custom paint job on the canvas.
The question then would be...

Some scaffolding and canvas or Paul Ince?

What happened to that ginormous flag that was hung over that parking building??? ... now there's a large section of the 'roof' all done up in clubs colours..

I used to be in upper management with a very large and successful nationwide retailer. The companies philosiphy was..Customer firstandTake good care of the 'housekeeping' and the results will follow. They did.
My point being that a business must get every little thing running smoothly 'in house' and the operation a pleasant experience for the paying punter.
Once Stanley have mastered the small seemingly trivial things and addressed and made good the larger problems(ie shelter) then they will be in a strong position to successfully expand their customer base-with plenty of repeat business.

Get everything right off the field,no matter how trivial, and then watch things fly.
