Your gutted, I got back from Oldham in plenty of time but didn't want to drive back up and down the motorway again. Really regret not going. But thats the 2nd L1 team we've kicked in the arse, Love it, moving up again? I think we might.....:D

Re: Accrington -v- Blackpool

I'm now seriously thinking its time Rob got some 1st team league action, not that I have problem with Ian, its just people are gonna be looking very closely at him, and if he's not getting plenty of 1st team games I think we will loose him.

Craney, Brown, Procter and Todd were our penalty scorers, Elliot saved 2 and it was a cracking game. Two teams wanting to win.

I wonder what the record is for amount of penalities saved in the cup in one season by the same keeper. Rob is gonna break it by the time we get to the final (3 more games)

Have to say the funniest bit was when the blackpool fans started to cheer everytime their player got the ball, 3 kicks later we got possession so we started to cheer each pass..few passes later.......

GOAL TO STANLEY :D

their fans never bothered after that, wonder why??? :p

Re: Accrington -v- Blackpool

Having just got back from a thoroughly enthralling match played by two teams who wanted to play football, all I can say is to those stay away supporters - you missed a hell of a match. Pity the ref and his assistants couldn't live up to the billing though. I couldn't see anything wrong with the first disallowed goal from a Craney corner early in the first half, but the penalty never was for Blackpool (Mr Parker diving all over the place - has he had lessons off Rory?) and the fourth was a foul on our Rob but hey ho who cares - once more King Robbie Elliot to the rescue. Robbie Williams fourth equaliser was a bit special too. Crowd was just over 1,300 (quite a good following from Blackpool about 500 maybe more - it wasn't announced). Bring on the next team only please can we do it in normal time - this is doing my ticker no good at all.

Redash 31-10-2006 22:08

I was stood with two Blackpool fans one from work, and his Daughter, on the Clayton end. It was funny watching them trying not to cheer when Blackpool scored.

Loved it, a 8 goal thrillier with a penalty shoot out to top it off, anything better ?

If that don't get the crowds up nothing will by the reports i have just read.

Unfortunately Not !

This was one hell of a game, I think we can be very proud of our boys, Blackpool were out to win for sure and they showed plenty of talent and flair but Stanley showed it right back at `em. The undauntable never say die attitude again shining through. With 5 to go and most of the crowd thinking its over they dug in and set about squaring it up. 4 goals against league 1 opposition has gotta fire some confidence into our strike force, and shut up doubters thinking we can`t score without Roberts.

Home to Donny next round please :)

I drove up from Bristol again for this one - and I'm sure pleased that I did. What a fantastic game! The never-say-die attitude of the whole team was brilliant. During the drive home, I was trying to decide on Stanley's Man of the Match - what a difficult decision that would be. Maybe Rob Elliott for his penalty saves, but Andy Todd was also outstanding. Thankfully, the Millennium Stadium will be much nearer to home for me.

What a fantastic result for Stanley !!! :D :D :D

I was following score updates on the BBC Teletext and did not know that Stanley had won till a few minutes ago, as I switched off with 5 mins remaining when we were 4-3 down (thinking - this is the third successive match we have lost with a goal 5 mins from time ! ).

How wrong could I be !!!! :) :) :) I should of course never have doubted the team's fantastic fighting spirit, and this has to be a great confidence booster !

Congratulations on a marvellous team performance !!! :D :D :D

Brilliant game last night -only just thawed out but it was well worth it! All the lads played their hearts out but special mention must go to Toddy, Andy Proctor and of course Rob Elliott. Can't think which was the best bit, the game flowed so fast I couldn't keep up at times but seeing Rocky score the fourth has got to be up there, bless him he was chuffed to bits. Can't wait for the draw on Saturday - would love to draw Donny Rovers or Crewe, would love to avoid Chester :)

you place an opinion on here about players leaving the club. then people remove karma. nameless, faceless, spineless people.
well i'm usually on the clayton end in a lamberetta parka and stood with spud.
perhaps you would like to come and call me negative to my face and we'll have a little chat.
too many little boys on here, with not enough foresight!!!!

Why are you so concerned about karma on here anyway? You win some you lose some. Makes no difference either way.
