Predictions for Mariners game..
 

Wonderful wonderful wonderful - Cleethorpes in November - lovely. Yes next game for the Prediction League and for Stanley is the League 2 game against the fishy lot known as the Mariners up at Blundell Park. Dont ask me why but I remember going to Cleethorpes on a stag do - beltin fish n chips but everythin pubwise was shut due to Grimsby being at home to Man City when City were a lot poorer than now (if possible) - it was like a bleedin ghost town so we ended up getting a taxi to a pub in Grimsby itself and end up getting locked IN this time at about 5pm as the City fans get off the train from that ghost town we just bleedin left!!!! Didnt realise but the pub we ended up in was right next to the train station!!! Eee - memories... I met a season ticket Mariners fan earlier this year when he was on holiday in Paphos - bloody nice chap - wished us all the best and hoped he wouldnt be playing us this season as they were involved in the playoffs at the time...

Anyway enough reminiscing - how do you think we will get on this Saturday?? Deadline for all guesses is as per - kick off which is 3pm GMT 25th November (this Saturday)

Got to say after last Saturday we haven't got a chance in hell, however, things may just turn our way in that Cav is out for 3 months so Phil Edwards will be in defence, and the 2 new signings may start from the word go so on that premise - its gotta be a Stanley win - 2-1 please

When I heard about Craney going I predicted a win for Grimsby, but with the new signings, I reckon they will try to impress, so, fingers-crossed,

No its the right attitude to have. Keep it up.

There were some good signs today.

Mannix looked very good (and potentially excellent) and played a big part in Andy Proctor's "goal" , and Sean Whalley and Adam Dugdale did reasonably well.

I was sorry I did not see more of Curtis McDonald. In the half time knock about his distribution and first touch were excellent.

Just got in there this week with my prediction - turns out Im glad I did!!

2 winners this week correctly predicting a 2-0 Mariners win - Kiwi John and my good self.

The league table has been updated now and can be seen in the thread entitled Prediction League table including Grimsby game so look for that thread for the current up to date table and please carry on ignoring the stickied Peterborough thread at the top - I cant remove it or edit any more...
