Four year deal. Well done Gary, hope to see him in the Premiership before long.

Its gone on the sky sports news ticker tonight that gary's deal has gone through although no mention of the fee involved. He'll be contracted to ipswich until 2010.

I wish the lad luck. At the same time I hope he's brought us a good sized fee.

Have I missed something here, as I dont recall seeing anything 'officialy anounced' on the fishy site..........I know Gary deal has been 'done' for a while now, but there appears to be no 'official confirmation' that it is now 'done and dusted' from Accy.

Someone tell me Im wrong?

They are always a bit slow on the uptake Pete & we find out from other sources 1st  not good.

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

No Probs,

I Spoke to him on New Years Day straight after Ipswich match and the 1st thing he did was look for the Accy result on Sky sports on a telly at the ground which he was well chuffed with (as was I)..Hope Stanley can build on that result,,,,Starting Saturday.

We'll look after him down 'ere..!

Tractorboy Red.

:)

ps Happy New Year to all...!!

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

Apparently, apart from the reported £200,000 fee, there was a £50,000 loan fee and there's a sell-on clause and a promotion bonus for us, should Ipswich go up.

Come on, you Tractor Boys!

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

As Kipax is always saying, nothing is official until it appears on the official site. That being the case, Roberts will probably sign for Ipswich in November 2008 ;)

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

what was the point of having a pop at me there TM ....?

as to all these figures.. I guess all this "apparently" means more than i thought it meant as your all so eager to believe it....

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

Both links above are way out of date as they have been available since the end of last year. We have all heard the figures banded around of 220K news to me on the promotion bonus, 50K loan fee and sell on fee? Though if true great. Lets just hang fire and await the official word from Eric and co

Bit touchy there Kipax, I don't think TM is having a pop, just reminding everybody that they should wait for the news on the fishy site as you are always advocating

Have you met TM... hes quite capable of sticking up for himself just as I am quite capable of deciding when I am annoyed.

also when was the last time i said that about the fishy site... i have more recently in threds moaned about them not giving info.. seems some people have selective memory ... cant think why..

Tin Monkey 04-01-2007 17:20

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

I have been known to be a big spoon on this forum, but on this occasion I wasn't having a go at you Kipax. You're 'well known' for saying nothing is official until it appears on the 'fishy' site and I was quoting you to make my point.

Sorry if it offended you. :)

Cheers OO for your understanding. :)

KIPAX 04-01-2007 17:23

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

I ahvent said that in ages.. I ahve more recently said its bad of them not to tell us.. thats why i am annoyed.. selective memory..but dont worry.. no one died :)

Re: Roberts Signing Confirmed

Just won't let it go will you? You jumped the gun and got it wrong. But don't worry. Nobody died. :)

Found all this on an Ipswich fan site this afternoon, but I've forgotten which one. It even had a quote from Rob on it confirming the sell-on clause and promotion bonus! IF it is true (and I realise it's still a very big if), it's a better deal than we thought.

After watching Ipswich week-in-week-out, don't rely too much on the promotion bonus this season....:rofl38: :rofl38: :rofl38: ... The Ipswich forum is Those Were the Days. Link below.

That's the one. Cheers, Marty. Just been looking at the table - I didn't realise the Tractorboys were so far down! Ah well, there's always the sell-on clause...
