We'll be lucky too keep the green bit in the middle. On Stanley On.
|
Re: new ground pic
Just imagine it with STANLEY on them seats and 1700 to watch accy ladies:)
|
Re: new ground pic
Considering we only get 1,700 to watch the first team, it requires a considerable feat of imagination!

The stadium has been built by the council as a community stadium and incorporates facilites that will be of benefit to all the community. I think they call it good planning :) Preston are redeveloping the one remaining side of the ground they haven't done yet with a new stand. Who's paying for it... the NHS !! They are incorporating facilites in to it that benefit both parties. I think they call it good planning :) Anyone spotting a common theme here ? |
Re: new ground pic
Doncaster rugby league have the use of it too, I think.
Who can we invite to share our ground to get Hyndburn council to cough up 30 million? Any answers? |

Tesco/Sainsbury/Morrisons ? And the council probably wouldn't need to find 30 million then :) |
Re: new ground pic
Doncaster rovers, the ladies team.. doncaster lakers? rugby and soon american football... theres also numerous pitches around the side of the gorund..
oh and the pitch is a mixture of astro turf and real grass.... well dunno if astro turf but deffo synthetic |
Re: new ground pic
One drawback, it's all seated. If there's one thing this season has confirmed to me, I HATE sitting down at football matches. Gimme a nice stretch of terracing anyday!

Re: new ground pic
Don't think so, Dave. Colchester's 6,335-capacity Layer Road has just 2,083 seats and their ground has just been accepted for the Premiership!

Likewise Cardiff also have the same leeway although their new ground is more pie in the sky than planned at the moment !! |

Nice photo and very nice looking ground.

Re: new ground pic
As I said, Dave, Colchester are in the championship and their ground is mainly standing...and, as far as I'm aware, they have no plans to build a new ground.
|
Re: new ground pic
that cost 32 million and we aint got 1/2 million, what would our new ground entail?
|

How do they get away with that? I thought there were supposed to be rules and regulations about seating these days. |
Re: new ground pic
Dunno, but according to today's paper, their ground has been accepted for the premiership! Good news for us, when we eventually get there!

In 2000 Colchester announced plans to move to a new 10,000 capacity all-seater community stadium at Cuckoo Farm. It was given the go-ahead by Colchester Borough Council on November 13, 2006, and is expected to be opened at the start of the 2008-09 season with work likely to start in early 2007. The construction of the stadium is to be funded by the council. |

I think it's only got approval for the one season they may need it. I suggest that approval has been made knowing they are unlikely to need it :D |

Re: new ground pic
That`s a lovely Stadium.
I wonder if they`ll still play the cheering through the Tannoy when they score. |

britcliffe made a speech last week saying there wasnt a problem and that the council supports everyhting about stanley and its sad to see people going off on a tangent in the press etc.. the club say no problem.. the council leader says no problem... yet here you are at it again... |
Re: new ground pic
Can't agree more. He couldn't have been more positive about their relationship if he tried. He seemed to imply that the press were stirring it up. Funny I didn't see any reports of that, or did I miss something?

The new stadium being built is 30,000 all seater. Sell out every week NOT :) |
Re: new ground pic
This "new stadium" idea is a load of s***e IMO
For starters, a team that can't fill our current ground don't need another |
