Re: Rochdale bus

I went with a friend one season to Spotland - Dale were playin Man City in a friendly. I remember we all had a great laugh with David Seaman when he came to the Dale end and THAT side stand was jam packed full of City - it was impressive. I remember dreaming that one day Stanley fans would be in there (obviously not in as many numbers as City) in a competitive fixture - and here we are :) All made possible by KING COLEY!

Can go one better Bagpuss-won 2 tickets with full hospitality for L/pv Man U game but would have to sit in scousers main stand-too much to ask when our lads whack the hell out of you pseudo reds, so have sold tickets at cost-no profit, don't believe in ripping people off despite demand- to a scouse lover & told him he must put a MUFC shirt on as a condition of sale!!!! May not be Anfield but Rochdale here me & Keyco come! http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...ons/icon10.gif

Yes, thanks Macca; even got to talk to some people who normally frequent the stand, other than that it was all very pleasant ;)

Re: Rochdale bus

Thanks for the thanks everybody - who said it was a thankless job?????

the main thing was we did our bit to try to ensure that as many fans as possible were able to make the journey. The nice thing was that a lot of elderleyish people went as for a quid it was cheaper than the Dill Hall circular! Some of the people I spoke to hadn't been to an away match for years because of the cost and lack of affordable transport, so I am glad that something good came out of it.

Little apology to people I didn't really talk to as quite a lot tried to talk to me over the course of the day and I was busy in spells but also trying to have a day out as well, so I apologise to anybody who I didn't speak to for as long as I could have done. Over all, forgetting the troubles on other threads, the day went very smoothly, buses on time, the right numbers turned up (some booked and didnt come whilst others didnt book but did come) and as far as I know everybody got home who should have done. Also good to see some new faces and old faces amongst the stopping out for a drink afterwards crew.

Top banana! :Banane48:

also big thanks to Brendan at Rossendale Transport for facilitating the day.

Aye superb work with the buses mate, and how could anyone forget Megaphone-Macca at the match too?! Thought your voice was going now and then but you somehow managed to keep it up... :D
