Re: Rochdale bus

Rossendale transport buses leaving from Accrington Bus station as they would on the regular 464 service.

Buses will be arriving at 1pm and will load up and leave when each bus is full.

There will only be as many buses as I order, hence reason to book your seat.

You will pay on the bus as you would if you were catching the regular 464 service.

Prices are £3 adults and children, £1 OAP/disabled with a NOW card as it would be if you were catching the regular 464 service.

These prices are for a RETURN service the only exception to the regular service is that the buses will go directly to the football ground and make no stops along the way.

Fraser Eagle should not be put out by this service as most people I had spoken to were going on the regular 464 anyway due to the price difference of £3/£1 or £10/£10. Rossendale Transport made the offer because it made more sense to operate a football only bus than to have potentially hundreds of Accy fans descending on the normal saturday service especially as they only usually operate the single decker lowriders on saturday. Can you imagine the chaos just 200 extra people would have on a bus service that runs buses for 40 people at a time along a 15 mile route. Five consecutive buses would be full to bursting and would not be able to pick up passengers en route for the entire journey. The buses are every 10 minutes I think on a saturday so that would leave the route in tatters for over an hour and people stranded as 5, 6, 7 buses would go past without stopping. And then there should be more than 200 people anyway, so that figure could double, and then you have the return service.

If you do not book and there is no room on our buses then you can still use the 464 of course but you will have to make your own way to and from the ground across Rochdale. We should be back in Accrington by 5:45pm at the latest. With 3 points and sore voices.

baldy 17-02-2007 20:43

Re: Rochdale bus

Sounds Good, Cheers Macca and RT

Frazer Eagle cant complain really, afterall whos gonna pay £10 when you can just pay £3, no matter how much they support us not alot of people will fall for it, even when Lowiey did em to Morecambe they was never really that much show in interest.

Meet in Broadway for starters?

:D 3,000 in a crowd of 3,709, you are having a laugh. The official Stockport following was 1,749. Funny how Stockport and Bury fans do this every season.

It is pay on the day for Accrington fans, you have 3,650 seats to chose from so I don't anticipate it being full!

I'm looking forward to this game, a good old fashioned Lancashire derby!

Cheer's Mecca. I never seem to have a problem finding a space normally when going into Town. Just worried about leaving it just anywhere for so long. Is the Club Car park open? I don't mind the walk, could do with losing a few pounds....

Bus stop designated as stand E apparently this is one up from the standard 464 stop anyway. We are now on the third double decker, RT and myself have agreed a maximum of 5 buses so that they can allocate drivers. Anybody not booked will be refused. Please ensure that anybody who has suggested to you that they might go - gets a seat booked before fri teatime.

Doug - yOU ARE SERIOUSLY PLAYING FOR THREAD POSTS HERE INTCHA?

How can anybody red want to half way seriously consider missing this one?

Everybody who has any interest in the Stanley should be here!

It is a local derby!

It is a six pointer ish!

It will be theeeeee biggest following Stanley have EVER had!

It will be theeeeee LOUDEST following Stanley have EVER had!

If I lived in Cyprus, Spain, anywhere mainland Europe, I would move heaven and earth to spend a weeks wages to come to this game.

This match should remind everyone of why we support Accrington Stanley. We are the epitome of everything British man stands for! We had no right to be one of the founding members of the league - we had no right to become the most famous small club IN THE WORLD - we had absolutely no right to EVER dare to come back from obscurity and better the BIG non-league clubs such as York, Exeter, Hereford, maybe even Morecambe - we have no right to stay in this league. But what we as fans can do is make damn sure we play our part in helping to keep us up.

Do you think I upset the club and its primary sponsor for no better reason than to spend half of MY BIGGEST SATURDAY OF THE SEASON STAYING SOBER?

Its done at the expense of everything to ensure that I have done my part in trying to secure three pooint when it is most needed.

Bring everybody you can, bring whatever you can that might aid and abet the atmosphere, sing your absolute damn loudest and clap at every opportunity.

This may be our last chance to show the real game what Accy Stanley fans are all about. If it is not our last chance then it is because we - the Accy Stanley red and white army have sung home the points.

OH ACCRINGTON! .......

GET UP YOU LAZY ******!

It'll be gone 1:30 !!!!!

Anyway I even trying to persuade Mrs Macca to come as it will show her what football to a stanley fan means at its most rawest.

We do need the points and it is a kind of six pointer - but if we dont win we still have our big chances when we play Macc and Torquay at home, amongst others-----------BUT, this is the first time we have played a REAL DERBY since the days of Great Harwood. And as much as those games meant to me at the time, a derby should be battled in front of more than 200 fans.

BIG BIG derby match - this is the biggest legue match we will ever play unless we need to win the last one to stay up (and I hope not cos its MK away). Biggest because we have never broke a 1000 fans away - we will.
Biggest because we have never played a big local derby on a saturday in the football league for over 44 years! Biggest because we deserve to wallop Rochdale having never been outplayed by them no matter what league we have played in at the time. They owe us because we knocked them out of the municipal parks knockabout 11 cup the other week.

Yeah...

CA'MON STANLEY!

good effort Stanley, nearly 200 booked now. Still slower than I expected but still the best organised travel for some time. 30 people booked today so its picking up pace.

Re: Rochdale bus

The Church Inn is your best bet for a pub, its about 100 yards from the away turnstiles. There is also the Ratcliffe Arms and Studds bar on the site of the ground and a chippy 3 yards from the away turnstiles aswell.

Here is a picture of the away end, hope you can find a space in amongst the 3,600 seats. :D

Re: Rochdale bus

Just got this from the Rochdale site
Quote:

THE CHURCH INN This public house can be found on the corner of Willbutts Lane, very close to the away end. Normally frequented by away supporters and always busy on a matchday. Within staggering distance of the busiest parts of the ground.

Away supporters can also enjoy a pre-match pint in the ground as alcohol is served at the refreshment hut under the stand

Wynonie Harris 02-03-2007 15:39

Re: Rochdale bus

Right, cheers for that, the Church Inn it is!

Re: Rochdale bus

I lifted this from "Football ground Guide". Take the drums boys..
"Away supporters are housed in the Willbutts Lane Stand (recently renamed the Westrose Leisure Stand), where the view of the action and the facilities are pretty good. Up to 4,000 supporters can be accommodated in it and normally away fans are confined to the centre of the stand. If required, then this stand can be split between home and away fans. The acoustics are excellent, so away fans can really make some noise from within it. This, coupled with both home ends singing and the obligatory drummer, makes for a good atmosphere. If Rochdale do score then 'Tom Hark' by the Piranhas blasts out around the ground from the p.a. system.

I would say that Spotland in my book, is one of the best footballing days out in the country. Friendly & knowledgeable fans, good stewards, good facilities, three pubs located at the ground, a great range of pies on offer and not a bad atmosphere to boot. In other words, all the right elements to make for a great day out. Add a pretty lady on my arm, my team winning six nil and I'll think that I have been transported to heaven! "
