Big dispaly of support tomorrow?

We all know Stockport are fetching a couple of hundred tomorrow,

we may possibly be outnumbered ........ will we be outsung?

they also have an Ultras group (small fry though) ....... will they out-Ultra us?

Anybody wanna volunteer for a flag holding duty?

Please take your scarves with you and hold em proud at the right moments.

Lets get as much red and white in the air as possible

Lets get as much noise in the air as possible.

ALLEZ ALLEZ ULTRAS! (its French and cultural)

Re: Big dispaly of support tomorrow?

county nearly always outsing the home support, especially in north-west derbies, where we bring more than 1000. u will have a job outsinging the blue & white army, but please do your best. i for one would like the home support competing with us. support your local club! it might be the difference between u going up or down, it certainly helped us last season!

Re: Big dispaly of support tomorrow?

same with most away fans at most grounds I would imagine. We could just about be heard at your place but there was only about 15 singing in the open air. At least tomorrow you should have a lot more singing.

Let the hostilities commence :D

quiet at home? you should come & sit in the cheadle end some time, then you'll hear some noise. no offence, but at EP, I couldnt hear your fans at all, probably bcos they didnt even half fill the railway end. and dont go on about there being no roof, other fans have sat there and made more noise than yours. hope your fans compete with ours tomorrow, should make for a cracking atmosphere.

Yeah. Respect to Stockport for a great turn out.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty poor today from both sides TBH.

You say our loadspeaker was loud? You want to come in the away end lads! Bloody hell I had to cover my ears and it was still too loud! :P

You're quite right Jack. The tannoy has gone ridiculously loud at the FES. I enjoy a chat and a bit of banter when I go on the match. Now I'm resigned to shouting odd comments to my mate. I wouldn't mind if the bloke had something interesting to say, but it's all drivel. Turn it down for God's sake.... and my ears' sake.

The tannoy guy sounds like he has come from a fairground, scream if you want to go faster.

100% agree. Can't hear myself think, audible but ignorable would be a suitable level.

If I wanted to listen to 5th rate radio I'd stay at home, considering the stick I gave Stockport it's totally embarassing for us to have gone the same way.

Re: Big dispaly of support tomorrow?

I think they need more speakers spread out better cos in some areas its blowing your head off and others its barely audible.Unfortunately our new DJ style tannoy man is best heard from the barely audible areas.

Sorry Stockport Jack i though the atmosphere was great at the stanley side with the drum going and the supporters singers. I could hear the stockport fans aswell but couldnt understand what they where singing. When we get the roof on the clayton end the sound will be great. Just wait till you come next year jack :D

Less speakers would mean louder volume per speaker. With more speakers the individual volume of each would be lower allowing wider coverage without deafening people close to one. Trust me.

I do trust you, Zero, I think I got my smileys in a twist, just being facetious.

I'm more upset by the DJ @ that volume than yesterday's result, and that's just wrong. Morrissey was right, Kill the DJ.

It sounded like "Chelsea, Chelsea" at their place as well, suppose it's the posh Chesire accent. :)

Hang the DJ. Reckon that would be a popular crossbar challenge ;) .

Must be getting confused with Beats for Beginners, "Kill all DJs", admirable sentiment. :)

BTW... people keep going on about the clarity of the tannoy, but I seriously could not hear it on the Whinney Hill side. There seemed to be no sound from the halfway line up to the top corner.

Maybe we should start by hanging Tin Monkey :) , then we could be Monkey hangers too.

You must be a man of influence TM, but look what you've done :(

A man under the influence maybe? ;)

I see the tannoy as a way of broadcasting important news (team line-up, etc) and playing a little background music. It's not the main entertainment. It was like being at a rock concert yesterday. Keep that up and I'll be snipping the wires myself!!! :D

Re: Big dispaly of support tomorrow?

Totally agree with most of these points. I brought a friend with me yesterday who has only been a couple of times before. Said he felt blasted, deafened and invaded and will certainly think twice before he comes again! Somebody please tell the DJ guy before he really starts to have a detrimental effect on the arrendances.

cmonstanley 18-02-2007 21:20

Re: Big dispaly of support tomorrow?

the only way for not to have a detrimental effect on attendances is to play better........

Paper Boy 19-02-2007 12:56

Re: Big dispaly of support tomorrow?

I thought the Ultras display on Saturday was superb - really impressive - well done chaps (and chapesses).

Could I be bold enough to suggest that we up the tempo of the drumbeat a little though. I don't know if it was down to the lack of spark on the pitch, but it did seem a bit like the funeral march at times.

Before I get bombarded with abuse from the stickmen, it's genuinely constructive criticism.
