Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
With none of the transfer kitty amounted due to the sales of GR & IC being spent, I call for the remaining games to be priced at half price or less? I have heard the pros and cons, but we must pack the stadium for the remaining home fixtures, and it will not happen unless we try this. It might not work, we might not get a significent increase, but they can say "hey we tried" and every one will know that fans wont come if you practically let them in for free. This should be implemented for the Torquay game especially.

It has been spent, it paid for the roof that went up in Jan/Feb

Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
I agree totally, and have requested it numerous times. The most recent was the Mansfield 'replay'. That was a huge chance to really give summat back to the fans an charge a fiver, because they had already covered the costs at the original game and a fiver a head would have more than covered the cost of staging a game.
It wont happen. But it should. |

Why should supporters pay twice to see the same team. If the club could be bothered to give us receipts ( a piece of paper - ticket stub) as we pay at the gate there would of been no excuses for charging again.

The club had a right to charge you again though, any reduction in replays of abandoned games is purely a Google Page Ranking situation. |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Thats exactly how a club that dont give a monkees treat supporters. Make them pay again. But what do we see this money being spent on ? The sales of players have budgeted us to let every home fan in for free for the remainder of the season. I was amazed in the Jan sales as we let player after player walk, but no-one was coming in this direction. I here burnley are doing buy one get one free providing they win promotion, you couldnt get me on there for free - so if this is what stanley are also facing it dosent look so rosey.

then we saw a full game for £10 it cost the club nothing to call the original game off, it then cost them £3 per head for the rematch. The crowd for the rematch was a lot lower because a) home fans were unwilling to risk the downpour and possible abandonment b) away fans did not travel in anywhere near the numbers they could have done. In instances such as that there was a furore over not giving out stubs or something so that only the people who originally went to the game could benefit from any reduction. As the rematch was a game surplus to budgetary constraints it COULD have been a massive Google Page Ranking stunt to charge only a fiver and try to fill the place. For a saving of £3 it was not worth putting yourself out for a game that may or may not be played to completion. I myself did not go to the rematch because I was relatively skint and it was a game that I had not budgeted. At a fiver I probably would. The bigger picture though on the rest of this season is that we NEED some goodwill to come out of the club because all we have had this season is moan after moan from everybody connected to the place. "no drum" "bring the drum" "no drum" "wheres your permit" "stop standing up you're a disgrace" "wheres the roof and the bar" "the team are crap, sack the manager, the board, the tea lady, Paul Mullin" "car parks too muddy" "not enough stock in the shop" "can't fill forms in properly" We must get behind the team for the remaining fixtures especially in light of todays proceedings. That will not happen in an empty stadium where the only spectators there are miserable and disenchanted. Give us something to cheer, give us a crowd. They need to get the public back on side because next season we may have to rely on the paying public a lot more again. If we are to go down lets go down fighting, and I mean the board as well as the team. |
