Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
With none of the transfer kitty amounted due to the sales of GR & IC being spent, I call for the remaining games to be priced at half price or less? I have heard the pros and cons, but we must pack the stadium for the remaining home fixtures, and it will not happen unless we try this. It might not work, we might not get a significent increase, but they can say "hey we tried" and every one will know that fans wont come if you practically let them in for free. This should be implemented for the Torquay game especially.

It has been spent, it paid for the roof that went up in Jan/Feb

Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Are you happy with 1000 home fans, Is Eric Ebernezzer, are the players, NO.
|
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
I agree totally, and have requested it numerous times. The most recent was the Mansfield 'replay'. That was a huge chance to really give summat back to the fans an charge a fiver, because they had already covered the costs at the original game and a fiver a head would have more than covered the cost of staging a game.
It wont happen. But it should. |

Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Why should supporters pay twice to see the same team. If the club could be bothered to give us receipts ( a piece of paper - ticket stub) as we pay at the gate there would of been no excuses for charging again.

The club had a right to charge you again though, any reduction in replays of abandoned games is purely a Google Page Ranking situation. |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Thats exactly how a club that dont give a monkees treat supporters. Make them pay again. But what do we see this money being spent on ? The sales of players have budgeted us to let every home fan in for free for the remainder of the season. I was amazed in the Jan sales as we let player after player walk, but no-one was coming in this direction. I here burnley are doing buy one get one free providing they win promotion, you couldnt get me on there for free - so if this is what stanley are also facing it dosent look so rosey.

then we saw a full game for £10 it cost the club nothing to call the original game off, it then cost them £3 per head for the rematch. The crowd for the rematch was a lot lower because a) home fans were unwilling to risk the downpour and possible abandonment b) away fans did not travel in anywhere near the numbers they could have done. In instances such as that there was a furore over not giving out stubs or something so that only the people who originally went to the game could benefit from any reduction. As the rematch was a game surplus to budgetary constraints it COULD have been a massive Google Page Ranking stunt to charge only a fiver and try to fill the place. For a saving of £3 it was not worth putting yourself out for a game that may or may not be played to completion. I myself did not go to the rematch because I was relatively skint and it was a game that I had not budgeted. At a fiver I probably would. The bigger picture though on the rest of this season is that we NEED some goodwill to come out of the club because all we have had this season is moan after moan from everybody connected to the place. "no drum" "bring the drum" "no drum" "wheres your permit" "stop standing up you're a disgrace" "wheres the roof and the bar" "the team are crap, sack the manager, the board, the tea lady, Paul Mullin" "car parks too muddy" "not enough stock in the shop" "can't fill forms in properly" We must get behind the team for the remaining fixtures especially in light of todays proceedings. That will not happen in an empty stadium where the only spectators there are miserable and disenchanted. Give us something to cheer, give us a crowd. They need to get the public back on side because next season we may have to rely on the paying public a lot more again. If we are to go down lets go down fighting, and I mean the board as well as the team. |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Stood on the clayton end on tuesday night and herd quite a few people sayin they wudnt be renewing their season tickets next season, plus all this point deduction malarkey
|
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
The board need to listen to these suggestions. Otherwise the place is getting emptier as we speak.

Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
I think its a decline thats slowly manefested since the fans were serverely critised & the townsfolk at the start of the season, then all the crap thats followed since Gary Roberts departure, the lack of info given to fans & all of list macca has put on so far!! As far as needing a bigger store - u can only hold 5 fans in there at one time then its very cramped & claustrophobic - not good for selling merchandise!!!
There is a long list of critisms but we have been saying this along the way & still no improvement. All this is has been building creating the frustration for fans & now this FA enquiry - i think Eric & the team are going to badly need a magic wand as major apathy has set in with team play & results this season - plus get trained themselves or get someone in that can do the job its been totally unprofessional so far & its definately shows:(. |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
the torquay game is a must win game and anything to help the team has to be done. a full stadium would go some way to lift the players for such a game make it adults at half price or kids for a quid or go and give free tickets out to local schools.
|
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Kids for a quid? why charge them a quid when its free now :D

Have you ever been to a match where there is a abnormally large contingent of children ? Horrendous and they create no atmosphere at all. In fact it tends to be more cringeworthy than atmospheric. If you are going to give them out to local schools I would insist they all take a parent, hopefully for the club the parent may come back to the next match and pay to get in :) |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
fill the ground then JC cant use this as this issue to disguise any future poorer than poor performances. If they let everyone in for a pound for this game, and dont fill the ground, the club will know that people wont come for free.

I couldnt give two hoots what age, race or beliefs people are or have. I want the ground to have an edge, atmosphere which if everyone is honest it has lacked throughout the season, and for us to get at least 3,000 for the remaining home fixtures. How many times has the club payed for our travel to away games? Give the town NO reason to turn there backs on there hometown team. Lets face it there must be over 10,000 people who like football and follow the mancs or scousers from there local pub and favourite jim royal chair in hyndburn. Lets get them off them for a bargain £5.
|
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Here, here Macca. Even as a season ticket holder, I say the board should go for it at every remaining home game. £8 for main stand and £6 for every other area and also include bring a child for free etc etc. Lets try and entice the public of Hyndburn to our ground not Ewood or the Turf. Its dog eat dog in todays world of football, lets not become the dog that gets killed off ever again.

Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
This was Wrexham's deal:
Wrexham hope reduced ticket prices will ensure the fans turn out in force for Friday's home match with Bury. Tickets bought before 1800 GMT on Thursday will cost just £5 each. Season ticket holders can also claim a free ticket under the new 'Ticket for a Friend' scheme. They got their biggest crowd of the season 7,030 on a Friday night! It's got to be worth a try against Torquay, and repeat if it works. [Think we're probably talking to a wall though :( ] |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Any volunteers to approach Eric with the request!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)
|
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
I'd settle for half dozen wins.
On Stanley On |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
From what i can see, if the majority of the fans are prepared to still pay the full price, then why would the club bother about giving a reduction. The club know that come wind, rain or shine the hard core (true) fans will still hand over their hard earned cash to watch Stanley. It's only when the real fans turn theirs backs on the club, that the club might sit up & take notice. By then though, it could be to late.
1000 fans x £13 per ticket = £19500 2000 fans x £10 per ticket = £20000 3000 fans x £8 per ticket = £24000 Makes sense to me. |
Re: Calling For Deduction To Fill Stadium For Remaining Games!!
Yeh thats a true point accyjay its the die hards that do keep clubs going & thus the price issue is always subject but nothing done about it & would be only way to force clubs - even high up ones to rethink their pricing strategy.

If you take the Wrexham match not only did they have tickets for a fiver but also season ticket holders taking a friend for free. If you are doing the exercise to create a better atmosphere then yes it works to get more in cheaper. If you did a simple maths thing with the Wrexham game, their average gate is 4471, avarage the price of normal admission at £10 for cheapness sake then it's £44,710. Even if everyone paid a fiver at Wrexham the other night then the total was only £35,150. Can Stanley afford a loss leader to get a better atmosphere ? Doubt Eric would do that for more than one match, he couldn't afford to. |

but it should be done now and then as a point of principle IMHO.
Its all about the bigger picture I keep banging on about. The club NEVER seems to do anything about the bigger picture. YES We would have a better atmosphere YES The extra 1000 people would spend a few quid around the ground oops thats where the argument falls down, cant spend it in any of the bars, the food bars are outside tenders, the programmes either run out or you cant find them. But it help to bring in some new fans or bring back some old fans then its a goer. Anyway Jay surely 1000 x £13 equals £13000? |

:Banane57: i agree 100% with this but the problem is time .we need to advertise in every workplace pub every public place house in hyndburn has anybody said anything to the club..this would give the team a lift coming out to a packed fes with the majority home fans ..we are in the news again but lets capitalize on it no publicity is bad publicity cause we are back in the limelight bad or good we should invite the town to the fes charge a fiver even if only 20 people keep going thats 20 more than before lets build on it this is time to unite this is time to show evrybody that is against us what were made of the club the fans the players the manager everybody lets make a start at the torquay game lets not fall out of the league with a whimper if we do go down lets say we tried everything and not have any regrets frustration is the worst thing to live with so cmon eric and co at least try and and invite the community the people who wouldnt normally come due to cost /other reasons

Torquay had lowered prices for yesterday's game against Wycombe and had a gate of over 3000.
Taken from another forum: "A decent crowd of 3000+ today as well - if Bateson has any sense he'll keep the lowered prices, us fans deserve it." |
