accrington apathy
how typical of the people of accrington, eric lets people in for free and the gate is over 4000,and the weather was awful and this week when rovers and burnley have no game and the weather is not to bad just over 1400,this is surely a kick in the teeth to mr whalley,he looses about 15,000 pounds v torquay and his gesture was repaid by a crap attendance, so do the people of accrington not want a football team or pehaps the reasons go deeper.
1. no cover on the coppice or clayton ends yet 2. addmission prices to high for adults 3. lack of toilet facilities or not enough toilets 4. no bar facilities at the clayton end and b4 anyone starts slagging me of,the facts speak for themselves we were getting better attendances in the conference and non- league even when the prices were a bit high,i know the staff at asfc work hard and eric whalley has to be praised for his work but unless the attendances improve asfc are going nowhere. just look at some of the grounds asfc visited last season, and even chester city andmost of the div 2 grounds are 100% better than the FES,this is not slagging the ground off but perhaps asfc are a small fish in a big pond and if things dont inprove they will be eaten so come on people of accrington, bring a friend to the next home game and double the gate. i hope people can be constructive about this subject and post what may be of help to boost the gates, |
Re: accrington apathy
Don't you think it's a bit ironic that someone who wasn't at the game is complaining about people not going.
1800 and how many from Wales? 300 maybe. That's 1500 from Accrington. Well up on recent games and for a bottom of the table clash against a boring poor team. If the few hundred extra come regular then the plan has worked with bonus. You have your figures wrong. But you make me laugh. Not at the game and then telling people off for not going to the game. One final point. Most people on this forum where at the game or simply couldn't get there with little choice. Your moaning at people who where at the game. Did you get deported or forced to go to bangkok or was it your own choice? I presume your own choice so don't come crying about how far away it is. |

Re: accrington apathy
Got to agree with Poppy. We have a basic core support of around 1,000 fans. With 1,500-1,600 home fans on the ground on Saturday, there were a fair few hundred casuals on. Eric's experiment has paid off, on my opinion!

Maybe you answered your question. It's the same at most football clubs, gates are higher when you are doing well. |

Got to agree with Poppy & Wynonie on this one. What's more, there was actually a better atmosphere on Saturday because it was created by people who really wanted to be there and route for Stanley.
For someone who got the club's name dragged through the mud Shotgun, I can't believe you've got the brass neck to come on here and slag anyone off! |
Re: accrington apathy
How many home games have you been to this season shotgun?

Re: accrington apathy
Being a bit harsh on Shotgun are you not fellas? Sounds to me that he is simply looking at the stats and wondering 'why'? I have read plenty of posts on here before regarding the apparent apathy of the people of your fine town.Lancsdave is quite right, so a result at Walsall may see a marked improvement in numbers vs Posh.Fingers crossed.
