I was told yesterday that after the macclesfield game he packed up and went with the takings..alledgedly(sp)

The brewery put the rent up beyond what Bernie was prepared to pay. Thats why he shut up shop, nothing sinister gone on at all, just one small businessman telling a larger one where to get off when they want to rip you off! Who's loosing out now cos of their greed?
