Re: New Strip For Next Season
If this is to be right and the way the fishy is worded another new kit for next season
Talk about ripping the fans off ??? yes it's optional to buy that i appreciate but this is greed gone mad. The club shop is way overpriced 100% on everything (Source Surridge website) Get a grip Eric !!! |
Re: New Strip For Next Season
its no excuse but practically every team has new kit every season. We dont have to follow the trend but its expected these days that you do. I've already said that I reckon more shirts would be sold by keeping the same one for two years, I reckon you would buy one of each shirt for yourself and probably just one for the kiddies and missus. But as it is a gamble and the club can guarantee selling 500 shirts every season then they would carry on doing that. You've also got to realise taht we sell possibly as much stuff outside of Lancashire than we do within Lancashire. Until such time as the town of Accrington wakes up and realises that they too must support the club and become the majority then market forces will continue to dictate commercial interests. Would we sell more shirts if they were only £30? We would have to sell a third more shirts to make up the shortfall and I dont think we would do that. I think that as time moves on and the club catch up with the rest of the football league in terms of facilities, squad and set-up we may see a move to reduce costs across the board but until then it is unfortunate that they have to eke as much profit out of things as possible to fund these catch-ups.
We have all joined in with having a go at the club for not spending anything but this close season should see over three quarters of a million pound invested into the ground (pitch six figures + Whinney Hill Stand £500k + Clayton End Roof £200k). We should start to see the future being mapped out over the next twelve months and this is the start of exciting times for us. We all need to back these moves with as much as we possibly can. Despite not having a season ticket for the past four years and despite being unemployed for the last few weeks I have ordered one this time even though I may not get full value from it. Every ticket ordered is a guaranteed earner for the club that they can start to budget from so this would be a good starting point for everybody, also the Gold Bond Draw - a pound a week straight from your bank account? You'll never miss it. If you dont want to be an agent then just enter it anyway, send me a PM and we can put the OSC down as the agent and then any agent winnings can go straight back to the club! (and I'll beat Loweiy). |
Re: New Strip For Next Season
While I accept that as loyal supporters we should do what we can for the club, it's about time some of this loyalty is paid back.
12 years with a different shirt every season, the core fans ploughing our hard earned cash into the club year after year - surely we deserve some value for money somewhere along the line and if not (probably not), the club should be attempting to grab in the families of Accy with family shirt deals or something. 'Doing everything we can for the club' is a great idea in theory, but in reality the club must take into account that Accy is not the most affluent area in the world and shouldn't be fleecing it's loyal supporters. |
