Baker signs for Morecambe.
Just noticed on teletext that Carl Baker, one time transfer target, has moved to Morecambe for "an undisclosed fee believed to be larger than the £25,000 they paid to land Steve Walters in 2000".
Whilst I know the club won't be held to ransom over transfer fees, just wondering if we have that sort of money to spend ??:confused::confused: |
Re: Baker signs for Morecambe.
This was news yesterday. My contact in Morecambe says the fee was at least £50,000, which is a massive gamble in my opinion.
They've also signed David Artell, the big hoofing centre-half from Chester. |
Re: Baker signs for Morecambe.
The fee was NOT £50K.
The fee COULD eventually be around that BUT certainly no more and certainly NOT payable now. It's a package deal, as are nearly all deals these days. |

Re: Baker signs for Morecambe.
I think it's a good signing and a pretty good deal. This lad has been well watched and we've been impressed. I think now he's going to have a steadying influence in Sammy and Mark lillis that he'll progress as a player and I believe the fee may eventually be seen as a snip.
Anyway, what's that Mauro Almeida like? |

Whats this welcome to the Morecombe boards? Have you not got your own web site?
Season hasn't even started and they are already here, hope its just for one season and they go back to the conference. |

I'll never forget Bentley's face when he read it. Almeida? Seemed Ok to me, bit unlucky with knocks early on, then we got Antwi on loan, so he didn't get a chance. |
