to be fair to Miles look who has occupied the left wing for the past few seasons, Roberts and Prender-aghast - both lazy individuals when they wanted to be (frequently) but able to turn a game when in the mood. We know Miles can run with the ball and has a decent shot on him, all we have to do is give him enough games to show that. Fingers crossed

Controversial, or what? Actually, I think he can do it, saw two nice goals in front of my nose for Macclesfield against us. The fact that he isn't doing it, is a bit worrying, though. Coley does persevere with people, admittedly not always the right ones, how many games did Sean Doherty play before Coley gave up?

People have been knocking Rocky for years, and maybe he needs a rest, but to bracket him with Branch, no, emphatically, no! Webb needs to be given a chance if it's coming up to decision time, I've not seen enough of him, but wouldn't want him to follow the footsteps of N'Da and Almeida, who did little wrong when they played IMO.

exactly - miles on the ball has a good touch, good creative passing and a okish eye for goal.

But its when he doesnt have the ball which is the problem.
His tracking back is a joke, he cant mark and never wants to put a tackle in.
He does not make runs and is not a natural winger.
And his work rate is non existent.

I think his best position is in the Nick Barmby role, just behind the front 2. But with Craney in the team, Coleman is playing him as a winger.

Its a shame as despite shaun Whalleys poor final ball and Dennehy''s lack of confidence, both do a better all round job than Miles and have the potential to improve.
Miles seems to be happy at league 2 level.

Thanks for that MikeA, 3 very good reads - high class fanzine style. Very hard, but fair, some cracking lines, don't read them if you don't like criticism. (Possibly a tad hard on Bavs)

Hope DAV007 gets the Cod references, now. :)

Read it thanks.

Do I detect that they like a bit of vinegar with their Cod?

top reads! I wish we had something along those lines.

Criticism of Bavs and our defence seems very severe but as I wasn't at Grimsby this year I can't comment.

It would also seem that the author has managed to suss out our tactics?

No problem, as his team obviously couldn't :)

I must admit that the Grimsby mascot is brilliant. I love the way he joins in with the celebrations and the way he took the mickey out of Dunbavin when he slipped on the edge of the area.

I just wish we had something similar. :D

I don't know the mascot's name, but I called him Salty Seaman....... and received some strange looks. ;)

EDIT - Apparently he's called Mighty Mariner
