There'll be acres of space on our right flank for Grimsby to get through where Harris can't help but cut in (he's a thoroughbred central midfield player). There'll be acres of space on our left flank left due to John Miles being totally inept. Dsane will be left stranded, battling against Grimsby's entire defense, as Mullin is called in to action in midfield and defense to make up for everyone else's inadequacies.

Tactics, anyone??

Dennehy plays on the left.
And it could be very easily changed. Make the switch of Dennehy for Miles and play 4-5-1. Then you've got Roscoe on the right wing and Dennehy on the left. There we would have strength in the engine room for defending and the ability to send the quick attackers on either flank up front when we have the ball. Simple enough ain't it? Ah well - whatever happens - it's about time we start playing football again.

have to tell you guys this....i was at a xmas barbie wearing my Accy shirt when this kid comes up to me and iasks me where I gotmy Man Utd shirt from.He and his family immigrated here 2 years ago and his dad(A keen scum supporter) told this little bloke that the Accrington Stanley shirt I was wearing was a 'retro' shirt and that Accy were the original name of Man Utd when they founded the league. Sorry, but I had to severly embarress him in front of the assembled guests and =put the Dad right' on a few facts. The kid has since become very interested in Accy,hopefully at the expense of Scum.
But hte whole incident raises the issue of just how lacks our immigration dept. is in allowing this sort of person in...:)

I've just got back from Wigan v Newcastle - good match but wish I could have been at Grimsby, to make matters worse, I won 2 half season tickets for Wigan as well. Will just have to check when the games clash. However, nice to see another away win, my new years wish is for more home and away wins for the Stanley. Good to see maybe even Coley reads these boards by dropping Branch and Williams, but why oh why is David Brown not on the team sheet and not a sub or worse still unused? Bring on Mansfield and a very happy new year to all members of the messageboard.

Got back about 30 minutes ago and I must say that I was very pleased with today's performance. Although we were 1-0 down at half-time, we were by far the more dangerous team. We had a number of decent chances and quite a few unlucky incidents in the first half, and we were unfortunate to be behind at the break.

Second half saw us continue to build pressure and the two goals were well deserved. Grimsby came back into once they were behind, but apart from a brilliant Dunbavin save (low down to his left), they didn't create very much.

Although Richardson was caught on his heels for the Grimsby goal, he had a really good game at right-back, as did Edwards on the other side (yeah, it puzzled me bit too).
Webb and Roberts looked fairly composed in the middle, especially Roberts who won everything in the air. Webb is definitely not on loan from Ross County, but is on a 6 month contract that is due to expire next month. I really hope we keep hold of him, as he definitely has good positional sense and doesn't take chances.
As for Rocky, well he came on and played right-back in the last 25 minutes (or so) and to be honest looked ok. However, I'm really glad that Coleman has seen sense and made the change. Let's hope he stands by his convictions and allow Webb and Roberts to develop some kind of relationship.
