part of the two-way deal is that King Georges will receive the services of our groundsmen as well. There's more in it for the Council than for us so that should appease the clap happy brigade but we also get discounted services.

Well done all involved

when they sponsored the kits the town wasn't happy because all they saw was a load of money spent. Now they are getting the services of professional groundstaff as well as advertising on the shorts, programme and the junket tickets they use. for entertaining clients of course!

Aren't most of us clients of Hyndburn Council. Does these mean I get a freebie ? :)

On the face of it seems like a decent deal

As one who always says the Club should have stronger ties with the Council maybe a step in the right direction for more prominence in the Town/Borough:confused:

very positive move.

Wirral council see Tranmere as a prized possession, one of the few things to put the area on the national map.

lets hope Hydburn can see the potential in Stanley and do the same.

"The club will receive the cash for two seasons on the provision that it uses it to pay the council for the use of training facilities and rental for the Fraser Eagle stadium."

So have I got this right? The Council gives the club money and the club gives it back. Hmmm.

Whilst i'd agree that any financial input to our club helps, for my mind it falls a long way short of what this club needs. £19,000 ??? So what does that pay ?? Half a weeks wages ?? (IF THAT !!)

IF the towns council, under whatever name it wishes to be named, cared about the future of one of it's main assetts, they would be doing a damn sight more than proffering a measly £19 k.

Sponsoring shorts ??? What about laying free busses on to the Interlink (which they own)for fans, or even a bit of council subsidy for ground improvements ?? The club is going to have to find some serious money in the next 18 months just to satisfy league requirements.

Accrington Stanley are a commercial business, should the council give money to all commercial businesses in Hyndburn ?

As an asset to the area then the council needs to support and work with the club ( and vice versa ). If think if the council start throwing lots of money at the club it would have a detrimental effect on the club, it would turn people against it rather than encourage more people to support it.
