Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My player of the season is Paul Mullin. he has been ever present in the squad this season. He has spent a lot of time as the only player up front which can't help his goal tally. I have never seen him complain or moan and he always has time for the fans. He has a mature outlook and takes the job as a footballer seriously and understands the job isn't just about what you do on the pitch.
For the presentation I will nominate AccyMad. I am sure she will relish the challenge :) . |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My player of the year is RORY PRENDERGAST,he has been consistent, determined and always enthusiastic. No one can catch him on the wing.During his suspension it was blatently evident that we have no one else of his calibre.Rory is THE MAN![and a thoroughly nice bloke too!]
:wave8: :wave8: |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I would like to nominate Steven Halford. He has been an absoluterock in the defence, giving 110% in every game he plays. He was sorely missed every time he was forced to miss a game.
For the presentation I will nominate KIPAX. I am sure he would relish the challenge:rofl38: |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
Theres no way on earth I would do it.. Pick again mate cus it aint gonna happen :)
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My vote goes to Rory Prendergast, agree totally with Lindsay - without him on the wing we are a totally different team, that together with the number of goal assists he has had this season make him my player of the season.(Cheers for nominating me Kipax, I would love to do it if I am picked - no matter who wins it).
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I think that Paul Mullin deserves the award because of all the effort he has put in, in all of the games, and he is the leading scorer too and he has been the main man to watch in nearly all the games this season.
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My vote goes to Paul Mullin, he has led the front line on his own for most of the season. He never seems to complain and always appears to be giving 100%.He always applauds the fans and I just think the way he conducts himself is an example to the whole team. :)
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
Agreeing with everyone else it's got to be Paul Mullin...he gives his all every game
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I vote for Paul Mullin. Last season I would never have imagined that he would have been so dominant at this level, his confidence has grown and so has his stature as a player. He is by far the most professional player in the side. Week in week out he shrugs off the cynical challenges of the opposition and despite the complete lack of protection from any of the officials he never complains or gets mouthy.
Paul Mullin just gets on with the job, and what a job he does. |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
It has the be Paul Mullin this year. He's given his all every single match and even when he went through a dry spell he still kept working hard. To say this is the highest level he's ever played at and he's still scored over 20 goals, when it comes to player of the year I don't see any other option. :)
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
The problem with voting for just one is you feel that you dont appreciate the rest but we do :) ;) :)
For me its Ged Brannan, Never given a glamorous job to do, asked to play in lots of different positions, runs and runs, Makes very few errors, and is like mully in that he does his job, no moaning or whinging. And that goal and volley on saturday proves he can do it anywhere on the pitch. |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
:rose8: When I came over at Christmas and watched the Morecombe game I managed to Video about 20 mins of each half so I could show my Junior team when I returned home. After I showed them I asked who they thought the best player was and way?
A majority voted for Prendergast because of his ability to cross effectively and cause havoc in the box and the amount of times he was fouled with and without the ball with very little complaining. A few contended that he was only effective because Mullin went for every ball he crossed and never once shirked a tackle or dived when some good opportunities arose for him to do so. After reading the match reports, seeing what is written on the boards and watching the one game my vote goes for Paul Mullin for his great season and scoring 20 goals in his first season in the conference. I nominate to present it Anna Kornikova but if shes not available why not ask Smiffy16 after you were rotten to him :) :drink: |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
It has to be Rory Prendergast for me. He is always trying his best and puts some fantastic crosses in. He first impressed me at Colchester and I didn't like the stick that he got about diving-was it Margate?
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
When the season began I really thought Pul Mullin would find things difficult at this level, though I knew his all-round 100% effort would stand him in good stead. However, I think he's probably exceeded everyone's expectations - even maybe his own! As someone else rightly said, he is a credit to the club in every way - so for me it has to be PAUL MULLIN
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I totally agree with Simon - for me it has to be Ged Brannan - He has been a rock in the defence, assisted in the attacks and has been very unlucky only to get one goal this season -To Date. He never tires, never shirks a challege and Never complains except when he was out injured and wanted to be back in the team..
It is a pity we can't vote for the whole team, for all their efforts throughout the season. To those in the Unibond who thought we would last one season - look again, we ain't never comin' back. Well done to the whole team for their efforts, maybe just ibe downside, cut out the red cards, although the refs in the Conference have been dubious |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
its a tough one to call as the whole squad have played their part...keeping stanley in the top ten for most of the season while still being part time. the step up has been a huge learning curve for the club and they have more than coped. but after careful consideration my vote is going to PAUL MULLIN for the goals and for his tireless efforts all season. even when hes not been scoring hes run for ninety minutes every game and laid on goals for others. a hero amongst a team of heroes.
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
Andy Procter....he's been strong in midfield, gets the tackles in which is what we need. He also feeds the balls through to the strikers nicely, sets up goals and scores some for himself.
************************************************** *********************************************** Me for presenting it cos It's really hard for me to get over to Accrington and this is one thing I'm managing to get over to |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
for me rory prendegast just plays the ball well aand when not playin we SORLEY miss him have to agree with the others and i nominate
me of the trophie |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My vote goes for Paul Mullin because he scores lots of goals for the club. He also gives his best and never gives up whatever situation we are in
************************************************** ********** I also wish we could give it to a couple because It was an very hard decsion for me. |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My player of the season has to go to.....Andy Procter. Not once this season has he put in anything other than 110% and he runs himself into the ground in every game. In my opinion we would be at a loss without his terrier like determination in breaking up play in the midfield.:dogrun: Shame nobody's nominated him for Conference young player of the year in the NLP.
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
Got to vote Paul Mullin,
Very good sportsmanship, dosnt give up, has a wicked header and not many cards :) |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I am proud of every player that has worn a Stanley shirt this season, :bow8: but, as I can only nominate one person, then...
My player of the season can only be Paul Mullin :) ... Paul has been solid all season, run himself ragged up front, scored some classic goals and stood his ground well against some tough opposition and I personally cant fault him on anything... That's why he gets my vote :) I would also nominate accy mad to present the trophy :) |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
. . :)
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
This is a difficult one this year because I believe every single player has done brilliantly.
Seeing as I can only choose one, it’s got to be Robbie Williams for me. Now, he’s had his bad matches over the season and I few bookings and sending offs, but when he is in the team the defence seems a whole lot stronger and more organised to me. He keeps his cool most of the time and gives it a 110% every game. Well-done Robbie. I would love to see KIPAX present the award (it ain't that bad!!) but seeing as he as already chickened out Accy Mad gets my vote. ab :) |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
Gentleman Paul Mullin. ForeHead and shoulders above the rest. Team player, Hard worker, Scores goals and a true star.
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
No nominations for Justin Jackson?
Has to be PAUL MULLIN for me. He's improved every year, a lot sharper round the box, never gives up and can't be intimidated. An excellent leader by example and continues to run his socks off............oh and he scores goals. |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
without a doubt rory prendergast!!!!!! no wonder spurs where at the bournemouth and colchester match!!!
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
As i can only choose one, My vote goes to Andy Proctor. Every game he never gives up and is the best midfielder we have. He gives 110% for every game and we would be lost without him.
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I vote for Paul Mullin, just because of his capability to step up to Conference level and improve his performance and work rate tremendously, no-one can even question his determination, work-rate and the passion he puts into our squad. His goal tally is proof of this and also the number of MOTM he has recieved (i bet eric will be shortening his goal bonus to 50p next season for the amount of goals he's gonna get!!!)
Well done Mully - FOOTBALL LEAGUE HERE WE COME (by the way i think Jonathan Smith has been the most under-rated player this season, if you think back he has kept solid at the back and kept us in games where we could have conceded a number of goals without him) |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
Not an easy choice as I think the whole team have done us proud this season,so well done guys :)
Im gonna vote for Rory Prendergast he never gives up,runs his heart out, puts in quality crosses, and even scores the odd goal as well.......what more could you ask for? Well done mate!! :wave8: :wave8: :wave8: :wave8: |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My vote is for Rory Prendergast. I agree with all the foregoing reasons why he should be chosen - and his skills are certainly worthy of a side in the First Division - but I'd also say that he has so often been unselfish in passing the ball to, say, Mully or Lutel, rather than keep the ball for his own glory. And make no mistake, he could have scored on several occasions with that deadly left boot. You can tell by the screams of anguish from every other Conference side (and one or two higher up!) that they all wish they had him. But WE have him . . . and AccyMad can present the award.
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
For me it has to be ....................ANDY PROCTER............ He gives 100%, 100% of the time. Runs and runs, Chases lost balls, Scores and is getting better all the time :) Keep up the good work mate ;)
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My vote goes to PAUL MULLIN. When we got promoted last season,
I for one thought that Paul would struggle at the higher level. To be honest he has been even better, I think this has been his best season in a Stanley shirt, and long may it continue.... "One Paul Mullin............ There's only one Paul Mullin" |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My Vote This Season goes To Rory for his assistis and his work committment that has grown throut this season
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
This time I'll vote for PAUL MULLIN....his work rate this season has been fantastic. He's bagged the goals left, right and centre...His commitment in games is brilliant and everytime he pulls on the stanley shirt he shows pride then passion on the pitch.
He appreciates the fans and always applauds them after every single game and always seems to have time for you....Overall a true PROFESSIONAL :) My vote for the presentation has got to be KIPAX........:camera8:Because he likes me sooo much! |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
Well   What a hard choice this is, Jk, Cav, Haker, Kempo, Rocky, Procky, Cooky, Brannan, Rory........ All been outstanding and all are of great credit to the club but it has to be Paul Mullin What can i say.... For having the biggest forehead in the league :D , Always gives 150%, Plays with pride, wants to do well for the club, and even though he is our top score he is also very unselfish, alround top bloke. How people can slag this STANLEY player off is beyond belief best 10K this or any other club has spent. STANLEY LEGEND,
ONE PAUL MULLIN |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
My vote goes to Steve Halford For never Giving up and always giving 100% The front Men get the Awards every year because goals win matches but the chaps at the back have had to adjust to faster fitter fulltime strikers. Yes he has been sent off but he will learn how to channel his efforts for the good of everybody. and he will be superb watch and learn!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I wouldn't disagree with anyone's posting. I'm surprised that Cav, Cooky and JK only get a passing mention in one post (Cammy's) or that Jamie doesn't seem to have got a look in. But, for his work rate, leadership qualities and the example he sets, even without all the goals he's scored, my vote goes to Paul Mullin. Goucky's goal against Huddersfield was special but Paul's at Bournemouth was just as precious, especially as the move had been planned with someone else on that near post.
|
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
It's got to be Rory Prendergast!...he's the most talented member of the squad by far!
plus a good friend of mine |
Re: WWR - Player of the season VOTE NOW!
I vote for Andy Procter, I think that he gets stuck in most out of the team, and can play a couple of decent balls each game which can help with the scoring... Next season I think that the defence needs tightenning, but what do I know! Im from the North East! :P
