ASFC waited for 44 years to reach the football league, it was a mission, an impossible dream..... our destiny even!

So now we are here, we celebrate the fact by having a good old moan, its crazy!

What with low players wages (by far the lowest in L2 I am informed) low gates, and poor overall facilities, we were favourites for relegation at the start of the season.

As far as I see it, we are like a 10stone featherweight boxer in the ring against heavyweights, and should be expected to lose every time. By the sheer fact that we are still a league club is fantastic, and the management team should be praised - not criticised!!

Don't tell me that Macclesfield, Dagenham, Bury, Barnet, Chester, etc. have more money than Stanley, have bigger budgets than Stanley, pay better wages than Stanley. All this about Stanley having no money, limited budgets, etc is just crap. Nearly every team in league two has no money, limited budgets, etc. Although other clubs get bigger gates than Stanley, the other clubs are paying thousands of pounds a week in interest to the banks for the debt they are in. Reportedly Stanley are not. So all in all it is not far off a level playing field, it is just that a lot of the other clubs are better managed.

And clubs with better grounds more money etc have better grounds more money in the Blue Square think one

A couple of weeks ago we were talking about Roscoe to a Torquay official who was on a spying mission at the Farsley/ Weymouth game. He reckoned that Roscoe was nowhere near fit, didn't seem to want to make the effort to get fit and, all in all, was a bad signing for Torquay. He didn't seem to think they'd want to keep him after the end of the season. This seems to bear out somewhat what Redraine said earlier in this topic.
